Damn near did from a scoring aspect! 62-27? On the road? After going 0-23? Like I'd been saying on various posts and threads, no one wants to be the team that loses to anyone that had as long a losing streak as Southern Miss was saddled with, but along comes UAB, & you wouldn't have thought that USM was winless going into this game the way they played. They looked like a (bleeping) contender today, & I have a feeling their confidence is going to carry over into 2014.

RE: Worst loss in UAB history?
To answer the question, this one's in my top 3, without question. I don't care who you are and what your situation is, there comes a time where you just don't lose a game, especially to one that was 0-23 coming into "your so-called house." This team couldn't even beat Florida International, who was considered by many to be the worst team in the entire conference other than Southern Miss themselves. But they had a "Bower Flashback" on UAB today.
Disgraceful loss, absolutely disgraceful. From 3-9 to 2-10...Yet, some have the nerve to say this program is "headed in the right direction?" Incredible!!!

Haase was head coach of the JV squad. Not a rookie. He had some experience no matter what you think.
BBHC Haase has the advantage of having at least competitive facilities for his 15-16 man squad while McGee still does not have that same level of facilities for his 85-100 man squad. We all saw the pictures of the new basketball facilities this summer. When will UAB be able to show us those new football facilities repeatedly pictured as "planned"?

Look on the bright side. We finished in a three way tie for last in the East Division.

Donohoe losing his doobie under his car seat was perhaps worse.

RE: Worst loss in UAB history?
What killed us today was the first 18 minutes in the second half. In that time we did little offensively and turned it over. So Miss scored 35 points in that 18 minutes. They ended up winning by exactly 35 points. Those 18 minutes were the game.
I think it could easily be thought of as the worst loss. Especially considering where each team was coming into the game.
Disgraceful.
I still saw some decent stuff on the defensive side, but today the offense stooped to their level. I hope to see some new coaches on both side of the ball.

Another reason why Mackin is a failure. Turf on the practice field, and a new field house could have been done in the last two years while we were crying about a stadium that may never get approved. Everything helps.

Hey, I love what Haase is doing in recruiting. I think he is definitely showing promise and Mackin deserves credit for hiring him. However, football drives college athletics now and it has absolutely fallen apart under Mackin's watch. I know the AD at UAB has a lot of challenges, that's why I'm saying we need a new person to tackle them.

When it comes to UAB Football, the Devil is definitely in the details...Since the so-called "big stuff" (on-campus stadium) is clearly out of the question, then the so-little things, the practice field/turf, the fieldhouse, weight room, etc., all could & should have been addressed long before now, what's the holdup on there? Or are those also being "planned?"

Defense should be priority#1 for next year, no ifs, ands or (bleeping) buts! Like I have heard many a BT'er post here, if I performed on my regular job as poorly as these head football coaches and assistants (especially defensive) have at UAB over the years, I'd be gone!

The Wednesday night USF ESPN Monsoon Meltdown was pretty damned demoralizing.
Dropping 55 on Tulane and still managing to lose also sucked.
Just throwing it out there.

I'd say Memphis was worse last year. I expected them to win that game and thought they had turned the corner after beating Marshall. I expected to lose today.
