Will Notre Dame go to the Pinstripe Bowl?
And if so, do they prefer

Cincy
Houston or
Rutgers (if they can manage a 6th win)

1 of those teams won't be there- Belk chooses before Pinstripe. I'd kind of think if Cincy beats Louisville, Cincy goes to the Belk.

And- Rutgers still has to get eligible. It's not a guarantee at all even with the schedule.

A Notre Dame Houston game would be interesting.

Cincy Notre Dame would have an interesting story line with Brian Kelly.

I doubt Cincy gets by the Belk Bowl.

Maybe.

Both Cincy and Houston would prefer the Pinstripe vs ND.

Cincy went to the Belk last year. Will Belk pick them 2 years in a row?

And what if Belk the department store has plans to expand into Houston? I have heard this rumor.

Should be really interesting to see how it plays out. Rutgers is currently losing to U Conn with 9 minutes left. They need to beat U Conn or USF next week.

The games this upcoming week have huge implications on bowl pickings. If UCF gets past SMU they go to the BCS. The Cincinnati vs Louisville game winner could go to the Russell Athletic Bowl, as the bowls do not have to pick in order of finish. They pick by who they want.

The bowl selection for the AAC this year is as follows.

1. BCS
2. Russell Athletic Bowl
3. Belk Bowl
4. Pinstripe Bowl
5. BBVA/Liberty Bowls
6. Beef O Brady Bowl

it's not automatic that the Cincy/Louisville winner goes to the Russell Athletic Bowl. It's the bowls choice. I could see Swofford putting pressure on them to take Louisville regardless.

Also if Louisville beats Cincy- UCF is in BCS regardless of what they do vs SMU.

With Louisville's season ticket base, it's hard to see the Russell passing up the Cardinals even at 10-2 with a loss at Cincy.

BTW, Rutgers is now down 2 scores to U Conn with 3 minutes to play.

Rutgers is awful. Their 5 wins are against abjectly bad competition, and if they win #6 it will be against another bad team.

No way should they play a bowl game.

If Pinstripe has Houston, it could definitely impact Notre Dame's decision.

like they wouldn't go there. I think they would want to see more a Boise/Fresno in Poinsettia.

RE: Will Notre Dame go to the Pinstripe Bowl?
right now, here's the list of bowls that ND will have to choose from:

BBVA Compass- AAC vs SEC #9
Beef O Brady's- AAC vs CUSA
Little Ceaser's- Big Ten vs MAC
Pinstripe- Big 12 vs AAC
Poinsettia- Army vs MWC

2nd BCS slot:
B10- Heart of Dallas vs CUSA
B12- Meineke Car Care(Texas) vs Big Ten #6
SEC- Advocare V100 vs ACC #7
(ACC, MAC, P12 could take it)

My guess is that ND will go to one of these two bowl games.

I could actually see if somehow the Big 12 got 2 teams in the Big 12 Texas Bowl... Especially if Big Ten only gets 1 BCS team.

Won't have to worry about that, they lost to the bad team.

If USF beats Rutgers (that's a battle between the very resistable force and the highly moveable object, btw), does that open up an AAC bowl slot for someone like ND?
