Question for future of C-USA
With Tulane, East Carolina, and Tulsa leaving next year and Old Dominion and Western Kentucky coming in for football that leaves you with 13 schools. Are you going to split the divisions in 6 & 7, are you going to add another school to even it out, is Charlotte coming a year early, or is Tulsa staying another year to have the American with 10 and C-USA with 14? I can't see you guys staying with 13 for a year, it would make no sense.

RE: Question for future of C-USA
It will be 13 teams for a year. That decision was made for us, not by us.

RE: Question for future of C-USA
Tulsa is definitely leaving as of July 1, 2014.

The MAC has made 13 work for several seasons. It's just one year 'til Charlotte football gets up to speed.

I haven't seen any of their games, but judging by the scores & opponents, it doesn't seem as if Charlotte could be ready by next year, anyway.

Definitely not. I wouldn't start seriously looking at our performance in CUSA until 2017. '15 and '16 could be rough.

I have attended a few Georgia State football games this season and in 2012, and while the program is clearly moving in the right direction, it has made a terrible mistake (IMHO) by trying to move up too quickly, so that the team is constantly playing opponents who have been recruiting a higher caliber of athlete for a longer period of time than GSU. Result was 1-11 last year and 0-11 this year with one more probable loss coming tomorrow.

Hopefully Charlotte will avoid that paradigm.

Our first ever FBS game is against Georgia State. Loser of that game should be relegated back down.

Georgia State started a year before we did, and their schedule is lighter than ours.

It's true, but this probably isn't the thread, man.

Hey, I wasn't the one to start that line of commentary; I was only responding. You've been around long enough to know that these threads rarely follow one distinct path anyway. Just threw a couple pennies into the fountain, that's all.

UTSA has come a long way in a short time. Good job, fellas. 04-cheers

I think Georgia State can achieve some success as an FBS-football program, but they should have stayed at FCS for an extra year or two before making the jump. JMHO.

RE: Question for future of C-USA
We felt sorry for all of you new programs and decided to start over ourselves. The first thing we did was accept a recommendation for a genius who told us to schedule prostitution games to "get noticed". lol...priceless. Some people listen to talking heads too much.
