This is going to be MUCH like the Ohio State vs Michigan State game. One has a great O, the other has a great D. One is Supposed to win, the other is Supposed to challenge them defensively.

In both the B1G & MAC champ games, I don't think either team is "supposed" to win. Either of them can win. I would actually put Ohio State & NIU each being favorites by 55%, 60% tops. With a championship game on the line, it's like a rivalry game -- and we all know the crazy stuff that happens in rivalry week.

If there's little to no turnovers, penalties, or crazy special team stuff going on -- NIU will definitely be held under 40pts. But obviously, so would BGSU -- so I would say it's going to be a "low" scoring affair, with one team in the mid-to-upper 20s, and the other team just over the 30 mark.

I'd like to think it'd be like playing Iowa, more or less.

With JL, I just don't see him going out with a loss in the MACC....the guy is just such a beast....plus with Lewis, Ward, Bass, Bishop, the o-line, etc.'s experience, this teams been on enough big stages now...I think they stay consistent and roll out another 38-20ish victory in line with Ball State/Toledo games...defense puts up 6 somehow

I don't either, its hard to envision Lynch losing this one. It has to help that NIU has been there and done this the past 2 years.

Not to mention this team, despite the amazing home winning streak, doesn't seem to play particularly better or worse on the road or at home this season...so neutral site shouldn't impact much....if anything brown, Lewis, turner and the defense should be able to fly out there on the turf

Root for Rutgers over South Florida. It makes it more difficult for Notre Dame to go where they want... their main aim is the Pinstripe Bowl ($1.8m).

That means Notre Dame may not have any other options paying much higher than the Pizza Bowl ($750,000).

Which means Ball State could play Notre Dame there in a packed stadium for a battle for who's-best-in-Indy.

If BSU wins, that makes NIU (and the MAC) look better!!

Am I the only one who thinks yes, on paper it's a pretty even match-up but when watching the games, NIU has a big edge on speed and athleticism?

I really think on the field and seeing how each team plays, NIU looks stronger and attacks exactly what BG allows on defense. They play tight in the front 7 and dare you to play on the exterior, most teams haven't. That's precisely how NIU plays.

I just think match-up wise, it looks good for the Huskies.
