Offensive Line Changes
With Krempel going down last night and Loos done for the year, how is the OL going to line up for the next 2 huge games. Last night the lineup was: Ryan Brown, Volk, Ness, Conlon, and Tyler Pitt. Did anyone see another lineman in the mix ? I know that we have a lot of good, young guys that can play, but the Oline will make or break us in the 2 biggest games of the year!

I thought Josh Ruka came in when Krempel went down. Pitt is a guard, and is part of that rotation. I'd bet Ruka or Levon Meyers takes Krempel's spot is he remains hurt

We are not taken as seriously in the BCS because of our bowl game against FSU last year. Jordan Lynch is not being looked at as a serious Heisman candidate partially because of the OB last year. I'm pretty sure the team and coaches feel a lot different about the bowl game than it being a recreational game !

Just checked, Krempel was back out there to start the second half.

That's great news.

But really unless you are in the national championship game what's the point. Next year the BCS games mean even less. regardless of what happens in a bowl game people are going to spin it as either NIU once again proves it doesn't belong, or the other team overlooked NIU and was disappointed to be playing NIU vs. playing another BCS team. Don't get me wrong, I'll go and have fun, but I would much rather win the conference than any bowl game BCS or otherwise. Bowl games were much more fun when they actually ment that winning could potentially put you in the mythical championship hunt. Now that you have a championship game or a 4 team tournament you render the bowl games obsolete. It's great that the players get some swag, extra practice time, rewards for a good season, but to me the game itself is not as important as a regular season that could make or break conference championship.
