So.....I've never done a product review before but for reasons I'll list, felt compelled to do one.

My wife and I decided we were making entirely too much money and that I should return to get another degree (we enjoy suffering lol). Up to that time I'd been using Gillette Proglide razors. They are fantastic razors but as a college student, $17-19 for four cartridges becomes a bit much. This summer, I saw this commercial and laughed my ass off.






The commercial did its job. I was curious. I started to research Dollar Shave Club. I wasn't thrilled about the autodraft on my account each month and wanted to know more about who made their razors. I did some searching online and discovered they were made by a company called Dorco; which were getting good reviews. I went to their website dorcousa.com and after finding a sale, bit the bullet and ordered their "Pace 6" razors. For $25 I got the handle and 16 carts (six blades with a trimming blade).

So, how do they compare to the Proglides? They aren't QUITE as good in two aspects. 1: the trimming blade placement on the Proglide is better and 2: You don't get quite as many shaves from each Dorco cartridge. However, they are still excellent razors and the price difference is substancial.

Here's the kicker (and why I'm writing this)- About six weeks after my order arrived I received another small package from Dorco. In the envelope I found another four pack of cartridges along with a handwritten note from the CEO thanking me for my business.

THAT is how one builds customer loyalty. I would recommend these razors to anyone and will continue to buy them (until my wife allows me to buy the Damascus blade straight razor I've long wanted lol)
