UNC really helped you all out though.. they started off the year awful and looked as if they may struggle to win 4 games.. But they have really came alive in recent weeks and showed major improvements and turned what looked like a solid win into a great win (a great win by the standards of this conference)

RE: Which team is more mentally prepared to be champions?
First off this game is being viewed a pickem game. The home team always get the 3 point adavantage meaning that they see us even.

Now on to SJ. I hope that once ECU leaves to the AAC that the mods ban that lowlife from ever posting over on here again. I don't care if the others come back from time to time as they are great fans and well behaved but SJ should never be allowed back over here. I mean his own people hate him.

All SJ's rationale tells me is he is some UNC obsessed troll. If he values the win over an average at best UNC team over that of a conference title it tells you all you need to know about him and his intelligence. Anyone that has been paying attention over the last couple of years knows that this game is going to be a downright barn burner. Each of the last two years something has been at stake on this game and each game has taken extra time to decide the winner. And in each of the last two games the game ended on a turnover.

If either team blows the other one out it will be because a crucial player goes down with an injury. The QB debate is a wash. Both of our QBs are 1 and 1a in this league. Cato is he defending CUSA OPOY and Carden is pushing to win this year's and the winner of this game probably takes that honor.

Most likely this game is going to be decided by a late turnover, dumb penalty, or a heroic last drive. I do not see either team running away with this game. Neither team is going to have a problem getting up for this game either. This game most likley is going to be the game of the year in CUSA.

No it doesn't. ECU has a winning record against the spread and Vegas this year. That tells you everything you need to know about how much their opinions of ECU really matter.

ECU is 6-5 ATS; Marshall is 7-4.

Marshall wins again. This just keeps getting worse for you.

Only to some of these Marshall folks that don't have a clue like Banker and others that were saying Ohio was this great team that could win CUSA and North Carolina was garbage. I knew the minute we killed them that they would start talking them down.

Most of us could actually look at the SOS they had played the first few games and understand why their record started out bad. Give them Marshall's crappy schedule and they are likely 10-1 right now. That's they thing you guys could never rationalize when you were posting defensive rankings and leaving out just how seriously bad your schedule was.

If the best you got on us is some vegas tool (that has been wrong on ECU most of the time this year) saying the game is 1.5 when you are the home team, then you have nothing on us. Certainly not when we have had the much superior season. Keep fishing though. Cardens 10-0 vs CUSA 3.0 and we were the preseason favorites. Nothing has changed and we should end it just the way we started.

So now you're arguing that ECU should win because you were preseason favorites? Is this real life? Are you really this bad at debating?

I hope for your sake that ECU -- being the underdog -- can at least make a game of it this Friday. You may have a stroke if the Herd puts the scrubs in at the end of the 3rd. Don't worry, though, I'm sure Cardin will play the entire game to pad his stats like he has every game this year.

03-lmfao Thanks for making my case. All that shows just how wrong vegas has been most of the time on our two teams, not just on ECU but Marshall as well. Picking you by 1.5 will just likely be another wrong for them. Like I said if this is all you think you got on us, you really haven't got jack $hit. We have been preseason favorites from day one and have got the better resume and the top 25 in our sights. You don't. You got a 1.5 spread from some mostly wrong on our teams vegas tool. You think anyone would trade?

Funny I was thinking the same thing about you.

Just pointing out we have been the class since day one and nothing changed. Carden is 10-0 vs CUSA 3.0 in his career and we have a 40 spot higher ranked season for god sakes. You have some mostly wrong on our teams vegas tools 1.5 spread. 03-lmfao you think matters. Who cares, they are wrong most of the time on both of us. This should be no different.

No one is fishing, UNC started terrible, had they packed it in and not improved as the season went along it wouldn't have meant much (other than the state rivalry bragging rights) they didn't however and have strung together 5 straight wins.. Our Schedule is awful there is no arguing that.. I also don't care about that our goal as a program at the beginning of the year was to win a conference title.. If we do that then I'll be more than happy

No they played the toughest frontloaded SOS in the nation. Many good teams would have started out "terrible" by that criteria.

and you would be the worst possible in CUSA to win it. A team that did absolutely nothing but deliver a couple of the worst OOC wins in CUSA this year. If you value a conference championship so much, you might want to do something to help us to actually make it worth something.

You are seriously stupid. There is no right or wrong with line-setting. The line is determined so 50% of people take one side and the other 50% of people take the other. It serves to "even out" lesser teams -- in this case ECU -- by giving them points to evenly distribute the money people are wagering.

I can't believe I have to explain this to an adult.

The title is worth something.. We win it and we will have proven on the field head to head that we are the best team in this conference.. That's what being a champion means.. It doesn't mean any more or any less if ECU wins it either.. Being the Champ is being the champ and that's all that should matter to anyone

Also if that was the best SOS in the nation to start the year then the entire country played a joke schedule because outside of South Carolina UNC didn't play anyone else that good.. Georgia Tech isn't bad but they aren't a juggernaut either and then they played ECU and MT in their first four games.. Again good teams but its not like they were playing games against powerhouse programs.. UNC got better and didn't pack it in which was something they could of done and turned out to be a good win for you guys.. But they could of rolled over and turned into just an ok win for you guys

Marshall is the favorite to win the east. Rice is the favorite to win the west. I would imagine Rice would be a 1-3 point favorite in Houston, and Marshall would be a 7-10 point favorite in Huntington.

IMO Marshall will have to play best game yet this year to beat ECU. I will be there cheering and hopefully our fan base will get off their arse and get to the Joan. Safe travels to ECU fans making the trip.

SJ arguing is extremely annoying, but it doesn't mean he is always wrong with his point. In the grand scheme of the perception of ECU football, beating NCSU or UNC is far more important than winning C-USA. It sucks but no one outside of our league cares who the champion is.

I think this game is important for the reason SJ said, a win gets us an extra game and a shot to have 11 wins going into the bowl game. Also an extra game on national TV doesn't hurt either.

I personally think this game is a coinflip btw.

Whatever dude, you earn respect from beating good bcs teams, (the big boys) not by beating crap like Marshall who hasn't done jack this year. That's what you are measured against unless some team like Marshall had actuall beat some of them an contributed which you never do. 4 in your ENTIRE history.

See, we've actually won both CUSA championships and ranked BCS teams and I can tell you without a doubt which one got us more national press was beating the likes of West Virginia and anyone thinks otherwise is smoking rock. Maybe UNC isn't quite as good a win as that, but neither is CUSA this year as the conference in the years we won championships.

No you have to put your spin on it because I could give a **** about a betting line. It's meaningless. Especially one that some tools that have lost more times than they have won this year on ECU sets at 1.5. If that's all you got to try to argue to try to say that you are better then you really have nothing, cause there's not a person on this board that would trade the season, our top 25 votes, or more wins, our quality of wins etc and we got going for anything you have done. What's not meaningless is BCS rankings.

Weak 03-lmfao

BCS rankings
ECU #31
Marshall #68

We are better on the field, still have a shot at top 25, we beat a team you lost to already and you flat out can't even sniff our support or facilites and have beat 4 BCS teams in your entire history. Even we beat half that this year. You might be in our league for a game or 2 more games, but make no mistake you aren't in our league as a program and never have been.
