RE: Coaches Poll
you won't address that if this is next year, Oklahoma St would be in the driver seat for the 4th playoff spot- w/o a CCG.

They are behind 3, 1 loss teams, Auburn, Mizzou, Clemson. Not true.
And they still have to beat Oklahoma. They are in the back of the bus.

Auburn and Missouri would get knocked out the next 2 weeks. And, I'm sorry but a committee would almost surely put in Oklahoma St over a Clemson team that got blown out by FSU. So, OSU would be in the front of the bus quite frankly.

I think you better read that again. It says "Conference Championship" It does not say wining a "Conference Chamnpionship game". Big difference

Would you rather be 11-1, or 12-1?

Do you agree that winning a CCG is not necessary to get in the playoff? And would you rather be 11-1 or 11-2?

So you are in favor of ***** football? You will not address what happened this year and last year the the Big 12.

Sorry, but your post doesn't make any sense. We were discussing whether the Selection committee required a CCG.

RE: Coaches Poll
Seems people believe seem to believe Clemson losing is a foregone conclusion. say Clemson beats or even handles South Carolina, anything can happen you know? Mizzou loses to A&M, so that drops South Carolina and Mizzou pretty far. Oklahoma beats OSU. Ohio State goes to the big House and gets intimidated loses a close one or possibly falls to MSU. And Alabama loses in the Championship game... Does that mean an ALL ACC final? Crazy? Yea. Unlikely??yez. Impossible? NO

RE: Coaches Poll
Clemson has no chance. NONE. No body wants to see a Clemson/FSU title game. No one.

Clemson lost by too many points to get a rematch with FSU. A one loss Alabama gets the shot.

Assuming Ohio State loses to Michigan or MSU, then assuming that Bama loses to Auburn, they are 11-1. If Bama beats Auburn but loses to a SC 10-3 SC team, Bama is 12-1. If Bama loses to a 12-1 Mizzou, Mizzou gets the shot as they are 12-1.

No situation puts more than one loss on Bama. Bama's one loss will be to either Auburn, Mizzou, or SC. Bama will still have beaten LSU, TAMU, and VT in the SEC, while Clemson's best wins will be SC and Georgia.

Clemson will have lost to number 1 FSU.
Bama will have lost to a top 10 SEC team tbd.

Clemson's good wins will be a top 10 South Carolina and Georgia
Bama's good wins will be LSU, TAMU, Ole Miss, and VT

While a one loss Bama and a one loss Clemson would be close, I think the number of Bama wins over teams in the top 30 combined with the FSU beatdown put Bama ahead of Clemson if both have just one loss.

Totally agree with everything you say- except that Georgia won't count nearly as much as you think(espeically if they lose to Georgia Tech). It's funny- but in that game- Clemson is actually rooting for the SEC team!

I'm not counting the Georgia win as something that counts greatly for Clemson, just that it's their best win so far. UGa was uninjured at that point, however since Clemson has already beaten GT by about 40 points, I don't think it matters either way who wins between GT/UGa - UGa is still going to be Clemson's second best win of the year if they beat SC.
