I also understand that Tulane has sold out its' allotment for the game:

So, Houston area alums, you folks need to show up in droves!

Good deal...just wish the students would still be in town to even out the Lower East side.

Won't be able to make it, as I'll be with my family in South Texas, but I am curious - how, if at all, is this game being market to the city of Houston? Tv/radio spots? Ads in the chronicle? If I recall correctly, when we took on UH at the end of the 2008 season, with a shot at a division title, also over Thanksgiving weekend, we had a pretty good crowd show up at HRS. Here's hoping for a repeat.

Noticed that the Longhorns had a lot of empty seats for yesterday's game at DKRTMS.
Still mostly full, but it's usually ALL full.
The student section under the Godzillatron was sparse.

RE: Rice v Tulane roll call
Officially it was their second best attended home game of the season at 100,668. Official capacity is 100,119.

Earlier in the season they were advertising tickets on the radio, something that hasn't happened in a while.

Here's what their attendance looked like through the season:

99,623 NMSU (Labor Day Weekend) (Texas 0-0 prior to game)
101,474 Ole Miss (Texas 1-0 prior to game)
95,248 K State (Texas 1-2 prior to game)
97,105 Kansas (Texas 5-2 prior to game)
99,739 Ok State (Texas 7-2 prior to game)
100,668 Tx Tech (Texas 7-3 prior to game)

(Aside: There were also ads for ACL tickets, which didn't surprise me terribly since they went to two weekends, the two weekend lineups were the same, and they never sold day tickets, just full weekend passes.)

While student attendance wasn't overwhelming, I was glad for the number of students that were there, even the smaller version of the dance team (that I don't really care about one way or the other normally) who clearly chose to support the team. MOB put together a show, and that was nice.

Does anyone know what the final count was? Parking lot looked to be a bit 'fuller' than Homecoming, at least where I normally park.

Which actually seemed like butts in the seats for a change.
