Anyone catch Sportscenter after the OSU/Baylor game? I fell asleep with that game on, and woke up to my wife hitting me asking me if I heard the announcers talking about ODU needing to consider dropping back down to FCS. Humiliating, and awesome all at the same time. No sympathy here, no idea how many FBS games we've played but I've been to MD, UNC, VT, WVA, FedEx, Navy and God knows where else and never seen ANYTHING remotely close to being that bad.

I think they owe the UNC fans, and the ODU fans (all sixteen of them), five minutes of football.

Never, and I looked at every loss since the beginning for us, never has JMU gotten our asses beat like that. The closest were the Tech games back in '99 and '03 -- you know that Tech team that went to the BCS national championship. And, we're FCS, not a transition. Just sad.

Well 69-9 was pretty bad against UVA back in '79. That was our 1st season of FCS and we only had one class of scholarship players. And JMU wasn't transitioning from D-II to FCS. We were non scholarship D-III in 1978. We took our beating like men, didn't give up and didn't shorten the game. And when those JMU freshman were seniors 3 years later, they exacted their revenge on UVA 21-17.

Okay, but just so you know, when we meet up as FBS schools in a few years, we'd like to play the full 60 minutes, regardless of the outcome. Thanks. Make a post-it note or something so you don't forget.

Do your professors shorten classes to 45 minutes if one of the students is having a bad day--like they got whooped in beer pong over the weekend and just can't man up for the whole 50 minutes?

NEWS FLASH: Norfolk City Council approves sale of 11 ounce cans of beer at stores adjacent to the ODU campus.

"We've heard numerous reports that ODU men just can't take the full 12 ounces," said city councilwoman Ima Crackwhore.

The worst I jave ever seen. Ok State beat Savannah State 84-0, but it was 70-0 after 3, and I don't believe they shortened the 4th qtr. This new "mercy rule" might become forever known in college football as the "Old Dominion rule".

I really can't pick on them over the score. That happens. Everybody knew their defense wasn't good to begin with and they were banged up pretty good.

The problem is asking for the game to be shortened. After the talk of wanting and playing "big boy football" they tapped out.

By the way, if MM doesn't get fired wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall when he recruits against ODU for a kid...

For JMUs sake hopefully we will be able to meet in a few years as FBS peers. For now we can take satisfaction in beating JMU in only our 3rd and 4th year of existence. Now that's pretty embarrassing as well.

Sources are reporting that due to ODU not meeting C-USA minimum requirements, talks between Conference USA and Norfolk St have been taking place since late last night regarding securing the Norfolk TV market. Conference USA officials require all teams to compete for four 15 minute quarters. If unable to convince to NSU to make the move, they have decided to pursue Christopher Newport who also meets the requirement of playing four 15 minute quarters.

Hahaha. Had the situations been reversed, there is no way I would care enough to check a team's message board that my school had "left behind" to defend a loss where my team had to give up with 5 minutes to play. But I guess rejection letters sting worse than comically shameful losses.
