I think the fans would accept the move, provided it was for all sports.

The MAC office is silent, as usual. We didn't know about Temple or UMass joining until it happened. I expect the same for any future move.

The MAC has stated in the past academics plays a huge role in any potential new adds and that lines up directly with the statement issued by JMU. I think the UMass situation will drive if they actually get an invite.

UMass' hand will be forced sometime, whether it's today or years from now is yet to be determined. They might have no choice but to go with the MAC for everything if the whole paying players thing works out, otherwise their whole athletic program might suffer if they choose to go back to the FCS. If they come along, the MAC will get a 14th school.
