The Freshmen
Since Fan31 brought up the future, I have to add my appreciation for the freshmen this year. In last night's game, the 3 freshmen added 33 points and 12 rebounds.

Nick's accuracy from 3-point is amazing, especially for a 6-8 power forward.

Caleb has done a good job of playing the point. He's had a couple of freshmen mistakes, but other than that he's done well.

And then there is Evan. What an athlete. His leaping ability is a lot like Craig's. Although he is only 6-6, his leaping ability makes him play like he is 6-10.

This group is destined for special things. If we can mix in a quality big man, we are set up to be tremendous at the 1 (Chowbay), 2 (Barnette), 3 (Bradds), and 4 (Smith). I think that Mack Mercer is going to be that big man too. We are a penetrating guard away from unstoppable with just those guys.

The future is bright!!

RE: The Freshmen
New to the board! Great to be here! 2nd year season ticket holder. I've been looking for a board like this.

I have been blown away by the freshman. It's amazing how Byrd brings new weapons who can contribute right away every year.

I am particularly very interested in Bradds. Watching him play downlow the other night, he got a rebound and put it right back up. What was impressive was just how explosive and quick he was doing that. In a very limited space, he got himself open while being covered for a quick lay up. I'm still curious what his outside shooting game is like, but with him, he may be just used as a game changer in the paint. He is SNEAKY, explosive athletic.

Nick Smith has been a BIG part so far off the bench. Great, high arch 3-point shot. I'd love to see him work on a post game too. We will need it in the future especially with Jenkins gone next year. Seeing him already having a great 3 point shot is a great start though. He also has been pulling down some boards.

Caleb is also very quick and has a pretty quick release shot. I love watching him on defense too. He is smaller, but he sure can cover someone with his speed on the defensive end.

Overall, VERY happy with this young class. It is concerning you lose 3 starters next year...but with Byrd, you just never seem to worry. He recruits his guys and finds ways to win in his system no matter who is on the floor. This is a very fun team though, and one that has already improved alot since that first Lipscomb game and could become even more dangerous come tourny time. I think there will be games where we could be flat if we are not hitting our shots. We also need to do better at rebounding, but this team has great potential for another OVC run. I wouldn't bet against them!

Welcome ClemsonBrad. I had just mentioning in another post I wish we could get more participation in this forum. I actually think I met you earlier this year. You sat in front of my old seats and previously went to Vandy games until you came across the gem that is the Curb. Am i correct? I know I met a Clemson grad at the Meet the Bruins Night. I agree with you 2002 Bradds plays like he is 6-10. And North side I think you are right on the lineup inserting Mack in the 5 spot. Do you guys know of a third potential recruit? I was hoping for All smaller but he chose Georgia Southern which seems strange to me.

RE: The Freshmen
And does anyone know a way to stream the HC game tomorrow night. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow night but I'd love to be able to check in on the game on the phone if I could.

I am thinking that we weren't going after Allsmiller that hard, especially after landing Barnette. We really need a slashing guard. That is something that we are missing, and when we've had one we have been very good (Renfroe, Kerron, Penny, etc.).

Yes!! Brian and Bailey, right? I was looking for you all the other night at Lipscomb but didn't see you all. You guys going to be at next home game? I'll check you out then.

I did a Comcast search for game tomorrow night but could not find anything. I think we can stream online on the TBC site from the Belmont link...but is it free? I guess we will see tomorrow. I'm thinking we should win both these games this weekend.

Yes, welcome ClemsonBrad. I'm able to the watch the Hofstra game for free on the TBC website, so I assume the Belmont game will be as well.

RE: The Freshmen
Yes Clemson you got it right. Bryan and Bailey. I actually made a donation to the Bruins Club the other day and asked them if I could improve my seats. I loved the seats I had but wanted to be closer to the bruins bench and have an aisle seat. They took care of it. I highly recommend joining the Bruin club. The Vince Gill room is awesome during halftime. Great food and you get to talk to a bunch of die hard bruins fans. They give you stat sheets at half and you don't have to wait in the long line out in the lobby. Thanks for helping me find a site to stream. Wife was angry when I was watching the game on my phone during the wedding reception. Die hard! Go Bruins! Beat Hofstra tomorrow night and we may be close to joining that top 25 club for the first time. Again I am looking ahead, but how cool would it be to go into Lexington ranked? I have another wedding that day or I'd be there. Glad you joined us Clemson. I don't miss a home game so I'll cone say hey. Let's continue to grow our forum. Spread the word. I think it just may be a hard site to find.
