I have hope given that we are UNM's first real competition, and that they gave up > 90 points to Charleston Southern.
Continuing to rebound everything in sight and limiting turnovers will give us a great shot to win

Charleston Southern has a guy named Saah Nimley. From the box score is appears that New Mexico couldn't catch him.
Nimley was near perfect in the second half against UNM. 3-3 from the floor, 9-9 from the line, 8 assists, 2 steals and an offensive rebound against just 1 turnover.

It looks like nobody played any defense in that one.

2-0 would be hiluge without question. As bad as football has been it'd give us a chance to get to 4-8. Which would be an improvement. For basketball the rpi and national cred would increase immediately.

I knew when I saw this thread we'll go 0fer oh well, we now know both coaches and both team's players don't know how to close out a game with a win. CJH was outcoached and McGee......

If CJH was outcoached, then every coach that ever loses a game is outcoached.
We've seen XCMD get outcoached many, many times....today didn't look like that.

Uncle Blazer is accusing me of calling a loss. Now I'm be accused of jinxing them.
Haase out coached.??? You are an idiot.
I was accused of jinxing the basketball team today, when I said at the end of regulation, "Only a desperation three can do it now..." My wife raked me over the coals for speaking that into existence...Then, she does the same exact thing at the end of the first OT.
We've been fighting over who jinxed the basketball team all day...
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's not all on you, MB.

You could say that, by outcoached I meant clock management/ roster management he was taken to school still a great game and great play by the bball Blazers. Yes a lucking three kept them in the game but not fouling is a what then? Just saw little things NM did to show how well they're coached.

Fouling on that play (which some have said Haase actually told them to do) is no guarantee against that team.
They hit the first, miss the second on purpose and their giant down low gets the tip in...same result
Opposing player starts his shot just as he realizes he's about to be fouled and heads to the line, to tie if he misses, to win if he hits...same or worse result
We foul, player hits both free throws and they get a 5 second call or turnover on the in bound and score quickly...we lose
There are way too many possible scenarios in basketball to say that stopping the clock to give them a free chance to score is the best decision.
Other than Swing, who is a defensive liability lately, what would you have done differently with the roster? Frankly, I think this is the best coaching we have seen in a long time for the Green and Gold.

McGee and Haas have more common than we'd care to acknowledge.
Both games were in range because of the talent we have. We lost both because of coaching. We feel better about basketball because that program has been better developed and we recruited as such. We recruited in football the same and got the expected result.
Both coaches will win these games, next year.

Much rather committed the foul. One reason for pressure of being on the line mixed with him possibly having dead legs Williams put on a show. Put Foz and Menhinti right at the basket with Ruck and I like my chances against a tip drill. As far the roster not much best group of Blazers I've seen since the XCMD paper championship team of Waltchan Dekinvaden or whatever stupid name somebody gave them on this site. Probably the best team since the XCMA years and I would've added another big or a true pg the same thing Im hoping for, for next season.

Huge +1
People act like me stating CJH got out coached is a bad thing if its year three and we lose like this then I'd be pissed both CJH and Mcgee are learning as HC's.

Well, if you were saying that Coach K just outcoached him, then okay. But, the opposing coach is a first year head coach.
I just didn't see what you saw today, that's all.

Haase was not out coached, it was his coaching that had us going toe to toe with the #19 team in the country, that has not 1, but 2 Wooden nominees. Could we have won it yes, but the same coach u claim got out coached was the one that put us in position to win in the first place.
