They are both 2nd year head coaches. They both coach at UAB.

That's as far as I'll go with comparing the two.

1 LOSS!!! 1 loss and now Haase is a terrible coach. I can tell alot of posters on here never had to wait or work through hard times. and if you did it sure ain't showing it. So after one loss in just 3 games into the season Haase is a terrible coach? Get over yourselves. it's still A LOT of season left in BBall.

As for McGee, next year he needs to bring in a new and competent defensive coordinator and some defensive players.
Good grief chicken littles, the sky hasn't fallen you just bumped your heads.

Two losses and two games no one that wasn't a Blazer fan really expected us to win. Both games we actually showed well. Our fans however didn't. We might have problems with players or coaches here or there but we have fan problems as well.

I'm proud of both yesterday. They didn't get the job done but it was a sign of improvement for both. They showed heart. It's time some of our fans did the same.

I'm not concerned at all about the bball coaching after yesterday. The only question I have is why, in the same situation, we didn't foul up 3 in OT. However, I'll give Haase the benefit of the doubt for regulation, because the announcers said clearly he was calling for a foul. They also said that one of our players hand checked a UNM player before the desperation shot, but the refs did not call it.

Our team looked good yesterday. Better than in a long time. I have a lot of hope and excited about this year now, and I've seen nothing to indicate bad coaching.

We have to let go of this loss and move on. The other two games in this tournament are just as important as the one yesterday afternoon.

The true fans are showing up. The general fans aren't because of the product (football speaking) of the field. We're not going to generate new fans until they (football) start winning. This is the era we live in today. How do UAB get the general fan and new fan to show up for games when the perception is UAB and the BOT don't seem to care about the football program? Add to that this will be the uphmteenth consecutive losing season.

The 3 in OT was much different than the one at the end of regulation. They had about 12 seconds to get down the court and set their offense up, and I believe that 3 was taken with about 5 seconds left. If you foul there, you have to do it with 6-8 seconds left, and that's a whole new issue in itself. Some coaches opt to foul, and some don't. I thought Haase did a tremendous job, and it was great to see the team come out fired up after a really poor first half. In my opinion, our basketball program is in great shape with Haase in charge.

Not really. A majority of our fans have had enough and aren't going to go back, no matter how many guilt trips are thrown at them.

If not showing up is going to cause UAB to lose its football program, the fans have voted with their feet and wallets.

Yea I saw a replay of both shots. The first one was basically a desperation shot. The 2nd one was a set up, fairly open shot.

Didn't their big man take the 2nd three? Is he actually a legit shooter or was that another one in a million shot a la Tim Duncan banking in a 3 to win a playoff game several years ago?

RE: 2-0 would make this a great day.
Good games by our Blazers, I wish we had gotten better results but I saw hope.

1st. Our basketball players are ballers, man they played hard, and anyone not hearing or seeing the game would have thought it was the Blazers who were playing from behind, to put the game into overtime. I can say with a knowing smile , I thought we were the better team.

2nd. I am so proud of our young men who play for our football team, you ask them to leave it on the field and give everything they have and they did.

Well I saw no quit in any of our guys, I could ask for nothing more then do your best, be your best, work and get better.

My heart goes out to Mr. Crumbley, he gave everything to our program, he deserves better, like they all do.

However, it is still a work in progress and I see good things for both teams.

GO BLAZERS

He's not a great 3 point shooter, but it wasn't a miracle either. We double teamed the other guy and nobody rotated. It was an open look.

Yeah it was a very open look. You'd think down 3 we would've just been in a strict man to man. Letting ANYONE get open for 3 is a disaster in that situation.

I think that was fatigue more than bad coaching at that point though.

I'm just hoping our guys show up ready today. If we can get in the 5th place game, it could at least be a decent RPI game.

A lot of people are criticizing the non-fouls, but it isn't commonly accepted that fouling is the better option.

By not fouling, we said you're going to have to hit a desperation three to send it to overtime. The odds are in our favor big-time on that. UNM hit the three.

In OT, we defended well. We made UNM kick it to their big man to shoot a LONG three to send it to 2OT. The odds there are heavily in our favor. The big guy hit a huge shot.

Give UNM credit for making two amazing plays! If we had hit a big three or gotten an and-1 in 2OT, we would have pulled the amazing win. They got it and we didn't. I'm not criticizing the coaching decisions. They were decisions that usually give you victory.

I'm excited about our team and the future.
