RE: NIU / Toledo
This second half reminds of me of Forrest Gump in Vietnam when he said, "one day, someone turned off the rain," except in this case it's the defense.

I like the ESPN announcer, Dave Capuano, he called the Ohio bowl game last year (among others) and always comes across as someone who genuinely enjoys MACtion.

I agree, him and Desmond Howard treat us the best out of all of ESPN.

Best comment: NIU has a remaining MAC game vs. "the Boat Rowers of Western Michigan." 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

Desmond is an airhead but he tries so I give him a pass. He reminds of a jock that ends up hanging out with a bunch of band geeks and is like "hey, these guys are actually fun to be around, who knew?".

RE: NIU / Toledo
As usual, NIU turns it on in the 2nd half. I wish we would play like this in the 1st half and we would put these games away early. I understand that our kicker missed all 3 FGs and we would have been up 16-10 but this team needs to play with that same urgency the whole game.

I love Terrance Owens and will be sad to see him go. He plays well against everyone but us it seems.

Looks like two critical NIU players in this game were injured, WRs Tommylee Lewis and AJ Sebastiano.

OR! if we score TDs on all out turnovers it's 31-7. OR! if you get two FGs and we score 1TD instead of a turnover its 24-13. OR- coulda, shoulda, woulda, your FG kicker was awful. He missed several practice kicks so it was no surprise he missed three. Unfortunately, you not only have the best offense in the MAC but the best defense. Sebastiano was all over the place in the first half. Never heard Lewis's name called at all.

Lewis did not suit up and Brown came out after first series. NIU played without their top 2 WR's. Just got back from Glass Bowl, so nice to drink a beer while watching the game. Needless to say I enjoyed my first trip to the Glass Bowl.

God forgive me, but once I got past the agony of losing I enjoyed watching Lynch and company. NIU is the real deal. Once they gave up the passing game we had no answers. Love the offensive scheme andLynch's ball fakes are as good as I've seen since Gradkowski. Good luck the rest of the way.

Both schools should be extraordinarily proud. Great game. Great venue. Minus Spielman's condescending remarks, it was an epic night. I can remember not too long ago when MAC teams were noticeably nervous being on national TV. Not last night. Every appearance/performance of we (MAC) belong. Nicely done, guys!

There's no way, no how we're winning next Tuesday. You've seen us play this year. You've seen our coach and know the grudge NIU has against him. I've rarely used the term "forgone conclusion" about a football game, even when we play top notch BCS teams, but this one is as close to that as it gets...

Wait. We still have to play? I thought WMU forfeited the game? That is what the post on the NIU board said. 03-lmfao

I'm still amused and surprised at how far that post got and that people actually bought it, to the point where NIU Athletics Dept had to send out tweets refuting the rumor. 03-lol
