Samford was a preseason pick to tie Appy State for 4th in the SoCon. Tim Wilson, a 6’8” 210 Sophomore who currently averages 13 ppg and 10.4 rpg, was a preseason All SoCon pick.

They are currently off to a rocky start: 1-3 with losses to Texas Arlington 88-75, #23 Indiana 105-59, and Louisiana Monroe by 86-52. The lone victory was over the mighty Martin Methodist Redhawks, a former junior college now offering some 4 year degrees, 79-62.

They run a short rotation, with 5 guys averaging 25 minutes or more , 1 guy getting 21 minutes, and 3 others getting about 10 minutes.

They don’t shoot well from the perimeter (25-85 for .294) or defend well on the perimeter (23-62 .371). They get outrebounded 43.5 – 35.2. They get outscored 85.2 – 66.2. The size matchup in the guys who actually see the floor is not too bad.
If we can’t beat these guys in a home game… yeesh
