Just shut up McGee. Can't wait to hear all of this again next August and then your team lose at home to Troy by double digits.

Reporter: "coach McGee, do you think you can turn the program around?"

McGee: "No comment"

Or

McGee: "No, I don't believe we can ever win here"

Both of those answers are the wrong answers to give.

He gave the right answer.

Agreed. Anything else would not be helpful

This story is essentially the same story as Monday, the weekly media day, with a different emphasis. I don't know what you expect the guy to say? The "Give up an offseason" quote in kinda taken out of character. It makes it seem like the guy is begging when in actuality it was one of many statements about the future. It wasn't a big deal on Monday and its not a big deal now.

It is bad enough with all of the gump yahoos we have to listen to.
How about backing the coach & the program a little?
Not saying we can't be critical at times.

He was asked the question. Geez, what the hell was he supposed to say?

"Brace yourselves, folks. The suckage will continue for the foreseeable future."

Yeah, that'd light a fire under the faithful.

I'd avoid the AL.Com comments.

He continues to talk the talk. But I'm ready to see action. I don't think most folks want McGee gone just yet. He should still have more time to prove himself. But I think McGee is smart enough to know that his players and staff need to start producing. I saw nothing wrong with his responses but let's see if that actually translates into noticeable improvement.

Support the program or go root for someone else. That's how I feel about it. Not saying we can't be critical but some of this silly.

I agree. I thought he handled it well. He even made a comment to the effect that people are upset and they should be. He knows better than anyone that things are going poorly, but his point is valid. There are a lot of very good football players coming back next year. We just have to hope that they will improve, and the young players that aren't ready right now WILL be ready next year. If so, the program could see the long awaited turn around for which we all hope.

I had hoped for better, but it wasn't realistic to expect a whole lot before year three. If things are as bad as they are now at this time next season, then we have a problem.

I'm disappointed, of course. It's been a tough year.

I'm worried about this recruiting class. How do you sell this program right now?

Playing time and the chance to come in and make an immediate difference. The chance to start from day 1.

There might be a few kids that want to build a legacy for themselves...that would be easy to do here for a great players.

That's about all I've got.

Last year Rivals ranked our class #9 in CUSA. They have us currently ranked #12 in CUSA. Callaway's last 2 classes were ranked #8 and #12 in the conference. We signed a few very good ones last year, but we need a lot more OL/DL types that we are not landing.
