Recap of My View of the Buffalo Game
I've been busy with a number of projects this week but did want to get this review up before tomorrow's game.

What to look for:
• Quarterback Joe Licata to throw quick outs to WR Neutz to the sideline when UT corner backs play off
o Yep plus throwing to Neutz all over the field
• UT defensive pressure forcing Licata to scramble and throw on the run
o The Rocket defense put some pressure on Licata and got him moving
• Branden Oliver in wildcat in short yardage situation
• UB defenders to swarm to the ball with intentions of stripping the ball for turnovers
o Yes, that’s their style resulting in one fumble recovery
• Bulls to draw more penalties that the Rockets
o By one, five to four
• Rockets to employee more play action pass plays than normal
o Yes, particularly in the first half building a 31-0 lead
• Delayed blitz up the middle by UT LBs on third and 6+ situations
o Yes
• UB to use three down defensive linemen with Khalil Mack playing on either end
o All night long
• Rockets to deploy multiple receivers wide to move UB LBs to the perimeters opening up the middle for running room
o And it worked well gouging UB for 323 yards on the ground
• UB’s TEs, primarily Mason Schrek (#85) on pass routes up the middle both short and medium length patterns as well as swing passes out of the backfield
o Not really as Schrek was held to one pass reception
• Rockets kickoff unit to kick from the left hash mark kicking to the left corner of the end zone to minimize Devin Campbell’s returns
o Yes and it was effective
• Oliver to rush the ball 28 times
o Branden had 24 carries when he left with an injury
• Bulls to bring pass rush primarily from their left side
o They did but the Rockets OL held them in check no allowing a single QB sack
• With Oliver out, RB Devin Campbell (#21) lined up in I formation, goes out to the left flat for a swing pass working one-on-one against a LB
o The Bulls ran this play as predicted with UT LB Ray Bush in great coverage resulting in an incomplete pass
• Rockets to put Naija Johnson (#22) in one-on-one coverage deep
o Worked more effectively against #20, Tomarris Bell; an interesting stat was the Bulls defensive backs had a collectively total of just one pass breakup
• Branden Oliver to go forward after contact – don’t look for Oliver and TFL to be used in the same sentence more than once if at all
o Hats off to the Rockets defense as they stuff Oliver at least three times for TFL
• Cordero Dixon (#12) to rush Rockets’ punter from the defensive left side
o Rockets special team kept Dixon in check
• Rockets to hold Licata to less than 215 yards passing
o In the first half; stopping Oliver turned the Bulls into a one dimensional team – hats off to Licate for setting a Bulls single game passing record
• Limited use of blitzes by the Bulls
o The Rockets offense took it to Buffalo on the ground negating their blitz packages
