Lipscomb - Part Deux
I hope we don't have a let down after UNC. Lipscomb knocked off Tennessee State last night at the Gentry Center. They are playing much better this year and I expect a tough game.

Maybe the excitement from winning at UNC will fill the Curb for this one.

RE: Lipscomb - Part Deux
One of the great things about Coach Byrd and the leaders on this team is that I don't think they'll allow a let down to happen. The next game is always the most important and I feel that the older guys on the team understand that and that the young bucks will fall in line with that way to thinking.

They're aware Lipscomb took it to em last game and were fortunate to come out on top. Lipscomb will always give their greatest effort when they suit up against Belmont and we owe them the same respect. Hopefully, this one is the blowout I had imagined would occur in the first game.

I hope we can pack the house. The last few home games against Lipscum, we have had a relatively weak turnout compared to the past. Its likely because they have not given us any competition in recent matchups. But with a close game at their place this year and a big week like the one were coming off of, you'd think we would have a good showing. Looking at the available tickets on our website it looks like there is still plenty of seats to fill. Hopefully a lot of tickets are purchased at the box office before games.

Well, I was disappointed that it wasn't a sell out, but 4,000 plus is not bad for many mid-majors. However, I'll take the solid win that we got.

I agree about the competition scaling back the crowd. I remember when the rivalry started back, Lipscum brought quite a few fans to the Curb. Last night, the size of their crowd was fairly small.

RE: Lipscomb - Part Deux
Definitely happy with the win. Our team's confidence has to be through the roof right now, after arguably the best week in our programs history. While you do not necessarily want supreme confidence (afraid future opponents will be overlooked), I feel like we have senior leadership and a coach that knows the importance of every game. We responded after a huge win in Chapel Hill with a blowout versus our old rival and I expect that we will continue to play hard going forward. I am so excited by the play of our young guys. Evan is arguably our best rebounder already (that's if he doesn't get 5 quick fouls). He plays with a lot of determination. Nick is always solid and I feel like he is still growing. I know I have said it before, but Craig's potential is what excites me the most. What a great night from the whole bunch and while I could comment on each one of their nights, I will just say Go Bruins!

As far as the rivalry...They are no longer the biggest game on our schedule. When our 2013-2014 schedule came out, it was not the Lipscum games that excited me anymore. It was out of conference games versus UNC, VCU (AT THE CURB) and Kentucky, and conference games against Murray State and Eastern Kentucky. We have proven ourselves as an elite mid major program and I think Lipscomb has been left behind. I was shocked at their attendance last night. Our fans traveled well to the first game and after a close one at Lipscomb, I figured they would bring a lot of fans. Good thing they didn't show.

I can't wait to see what's next. It seems like every year we are making huge story lines. And following each year of continued success it seems that we are doubted because of who we lost. We continue to attract the right players with Byrd's unique recruiting methodology. I love our team again this year, but I am sure their will doubters again next year after we lose another great Senior class. I know I always look to far in the future to early in the season, but I am just so excited about our future. Mack, Amanze, and Taylor will be great additions. The growth of our Freshman who are getting a lot of PT this year in Nick, Evan, and Caleb. And of course Bradshaw. I look forward to another great season this year and love the outlook for our future. We have to thank Rick for his dedication to the University, and thank the University for supporting the continued growth of our basketball program. As you can tell, supreme confidence resides in the fans as well.

I wish could get more participation in this forum. What is it gonna take?
