Logically there ought to be a correlation there. But not so far this year with this team.

The 3 point line is 5 and a half feet further out. Also someone is trying to stop you from scoring. Big difference.

Sure, there is a big difference. But usually on a team there will be several players who shoot both well. Good shooters are usually good shooters - period. We have good FT shooters, but not 3-point shooters. Doesn't make sense.

Our free throw shooting was not stellar tonight. Hitting 84%, the first 2 games, was an aberration. We may well be a good free throw shooting team, but it will end up being closer to 70% than 84%.

If a team shoots 70% as a team, that usually is satisfactory.

But you also have to make some two's and three's. Playing onsies doesn't normally translate into many wins.

We won't be this bad all year. Not this bad. Even a blind hog . . .

It has to be very frustrating to the staff to be clunking 3-pointers and have the guy on track to be the most accurate shooter in school history out hurt.

I don't know that we have a "pure" shooter other than Will. Dillard may be close. Still, our outside shooting will come around. I doubt we have another 0 for 11 night from the 3 point line. We may not shoot that many again.

We had better shoot more if we expect to win. If we had shot 22, we might have made at least four or five, which would have looked better on paper anyway. Plus, as someone on the broadcast said, when you start making shots it energizes your defense. If you consistently go down and don't score, the defense has to get somewhat deflated. Pappy. How does our points possession compare with teams around the country? Do you have those stats?
