RE: Men's Basketball Week of Nov. 18-24
Pretty much what I expected last night. (Except USC Upstate over Niagara). I'm expecting another 2-1 night tonight, but hoping for a sweep.
I'm going to try to make it to Kent for the games today or tomorrow. Is it one ticket good for both games that day?

Toledo's next game against stony brook is scary. they won like 26 games last yr and are a very disciplined experienced team that no one has really heard of.
Uuuuummmmm...I'm pretty sure that EMU Steve is their Director of Information and Publicity so at least HE has heard of them.

I am. I have the MAC board as part of my duties.
The game will be at UDM (Detroit-Mercy) so at least it is a neutral court.

Toledo puts on a defensive clinic and stops Stony Brook 103-99. The new rules seem to be having no effect on opening up the game.

When was the last time TWO conference teams started 4-0 in men's hoops? Both from the West Division?

Stony Brook is having fun playing MAC teams. Lost in 5 OTs vs Buffalo back in mid-September and put up 99 vs. Toledo and still lost.
Probably a lot of respect earned on both sides (SB and UB/UT).

KSU survives over USC Upstate 79-78. KSU shot 18-34 for 3 (school record), but 6-21 for 2.

Wow, that's some line on that game - Toledo shot .525 from the field including .538 for 3 pointers, and show .810 for free throws; Stony Brook was .647 for 3 pointers and .593 overall from the field. So from the score it sounds like they were taking a lot of shots, but each team only took 59 shots each. In the KSU-Upstate game, the teams took 57 and 55 shots, so that's not too far out of normal

Yeah, we really struggled with shooting from the floor tonight but when your freshmen only hit at a .520 clip it hurts that overall .565% we shot in the first three games. Freshmen have to understand that shooting barely 50% won't cut it in the college game.

Actually, looking at last year, the MAC as a whole only averaged 43% shooting. I think that any coach, if offered to have his team hitting 50% from the field, would take it in a second. I think Ohio led the MAC last year with 46.6%.

USC Upstate has a solid team with two really good big guys and guards who can get them the ball. They’d win some games in the MAC.
