RE: So who is CUSA MVP this season?
I can't complain if Carden wins it.. He is a great player and has had a great year.. Not that Cato hasn't but you can't argue too much if they give it to Carden

RE: So who is CUSA MVP this season?
So far this year...
Shane Carden
3320 Yards, 29 TD's, 7 INT's, 7 Rushing TD's
Rakeem Cato
2801 Yards, 28 TD's, 7 INT's, 4 Rushing TD's
Very comparable stats. It's a toss-up. May be decided by the head to head matchup.

RE: So who is CUSA MVP this season?
I'm not saying Cato is better than Carden, but I believe the reason why Carden's stats are better is because ECU's rushing offense(106 in the nation) is not as developed as Marshall's(26 in the nation). I don't think many people put this into account when talking about it. Cato's stats are down this year because we have a better team. Last year, Cato would have to play the whole game because we were never ahead like we have been this year. This year he has been taken out early in every home game. Saying this, I think it will come down to the MU-ECU match-up. .

Yeah but the one place that Carden is much better than Cato this year is completion percentage.. Cato is just a touch over 60% and Carden is at 72%.. If I was an objective voter, voting today I'd have to cast mine for Carden based on that stat

Good point. His percentage has been off the hook all season.

Carden: 7.86 YPA
Cato: 7.89 YPA
That is ridiculously close. To put it into perspective, it would only take two more incompletions by Cato and Carden would be ahead.
Carden has the higher completion percentage, so based on the previous stat, Cato must have a higher YPC. It could be a function of the type of offenses being run and is basically a wash.
Carden: 10.8 YPC, 72.5%
Cato: 13.1 YPC, 60.2%
Carden has three more rushing TDs, but Cato has 195 more rushing yards. Again, it's a wash.
It almost has to come down to head-to-head since all of the numbers are so similar.

Carden has already registered 2 of the top 3 OOC wins, and will have a chance to make it 3 of the top 4 or 5 wins in CUSA owned by him.
He should be MVP if for no other reason than that.
You've been arguing with UTEP fans about looking at the entire season instead of just part of it, but now you want to look at just part of the season instead of the entire thing. Got it. I enjoy your circular logic.
Do you think that beating a transitional FBS team is better than wins over Memphis, USF, Ball State, ULM, and Colorado State?
