We need a two guard who can score in double figures
If you don't have that, then you need a scoring point guard, which I haven't seen yet. Like Pappy, I believe you need to tighten up the lineup, but I believe you need to wait awhile to do it because there are games you're going to probably lose anyway, and you might has well give more players the opportunity to get some experience. When you get with a game or two of conference play, you need to pare down to around eight players to create chemistry in the lineup. If a player is not in the first eight, and wants to leave for more playing time, so be it. You can't keep everyone happy. I think most good teams play no more than eight when the games are on the line. They don't substitute past that until the game is out of reach, one way or the other.04-cheers

Right now, no one is getting it done, so we will have to wait until someone gets started. But you are right. In a system like Shields' where the 3 is the main defensive player, you have to have a 2 who can score. On some teams the 3 is the big scorer, and then you can afford to have a 2 who is more defensive minded.

I've never believed your point guard needed to be a scorer, but if he isn't, obviously you need a 2 guard who can score.
