A win at Houston next week with a team or two just in front of us losing should get us in.

We're only 7 spots behind UCF. We win out and they lose 1, we'll pass them.

Credit to Cutcliffe and his staff. They 2 games left, both they could win,
@Wake and @UNC. Both UNC and Wake have 5 wins.

In the human polls, probably. In the computer polls might be tougher.

The polls are 2/3 of the BCS. If they lose it will be close.

I don't expect it to be that close if we win our next two and UCF loses to SMU. That scenario will greatly affect the human voting (majority of the BCS formula) and given our back-loaded schedule should also have a nice impact on our computer numbers.

Up to 28 in the Harris Poll (the other poll used by BCS). I'm starting to think it is possible we could catch UCF in the BCS if they lose one. We'd need to be ahead in the human polls, but UCF has not climbed as high as I thought they might. UC has two great chances for big wins ahead.

I wont do the math, but UCF losing any of their last couple will certainly drop them out of the Top 25 in human polls, right? Right?

I know I need to look ahead...but to me USF still feels like someone pooped in the punch bowl more than any game since Minter was here.

That Illinois loss looks pretty lousy as well.

I agree but if UC wins the next two games (very doable) these two losses don't quite sting as much.

It matters how you finish and the polls are human. We win out (big if) and UCF loses after getting very lucky versus a bad temple team, we have to look like the better team despite the early seasons losses. New coach, early losses, but rolling through the end of the season bodes well for us.

Again these are big ifs since we have two massively tough games left.

RE: #27
If things work out for us we need to do lobbying during that Thursday night game against Louisville. Hit the announcers pregame about how the team team had such a difficult adjustment to the new staff, not to mention Munchie's injury (get ready to see the replay on the broadcast) and the tragedy after the Miami game.

Lots of talk about how this is a "different team" than the one that lost to Illinois and USF.

Then we might get rated above UCF if we tie.
