Unfortunately, while it does not matter, it might show us the future later today that our win will not move the dial in the human vote

A 21-point victory over a 9-win team only gets us a 30-vote gain. These voters are such a joke!

#15 Fresno loses 16 votes.

#19 Arizona St gains 68 votes and jumps us for beating 6-win team by 13 points.

#21 Louisville dropped below us and lost 55 votes despite beating a 7-win team.

#17 UCF lost 61 votes for almost losing to a terrible Temple team.

I do wonder sometimes why I watch college football, it's so dysfunctional.

They need an 8 team play-off, if not a 16 team play-off which would lessen any controversies.

16 Team Playoff:
10 Conference Champs (SEC, B10, B12, ACC, PAC12, AAC, MW, MAC, CUSA, Sun Belt)
1 Top Independent, IF top Independent is ranked in BCS Top 16, if less than 10 Independents; Otherwise Top 20 Req'd
At-Larges
No More than 2 teams from the same conference, unless a 3rd is in Top 12. If you're 3rd in your conference, you better be awesome to have a chance, as you already deservingly missed your boat.

(1) Alabama
(16) Louisiana

(8) Missouri*
(9) Oklahoma St*

(3) Ohio State
(14) UCF

(6) Clemson*
(11) Fresno State

(2) Florida State
(15) East Carolina

(7) Auburn*
(10) Stanford*

(4) Baylor
(13) Northern Illinois

(5) Oregon*
(12) Michigan State*

Left Out in Top 20 at end of reg season:
Texas A&M (9-3), South Carolina (9-3), LSU (9-3) [There are 3 SEC teams already in]
Wisconsin (10-2) [Not in Top 12; OSU & MSU in]
Oklahoma (9-3) [Not in Top 12; Baylor & OkState in]
UCLA (9-4) [Not in Top 12; Oregon & Stanford in]

How many games are played in a college basketball season? How many on school nights? Why do all other levels of college football have a playoff, are they not student athletes as well? Give me a break.

I agree. FCS has a 16 team playoff. Basketball has a 64 team playoff. Cut the basketball in half (due to once a week, not twice a week for football), and that's a 32-team playoff.

There are HUGE time gaps during post-season for football. It'd be a 4 week long endeavor. You could throw in an extra week for a break, too. It'd be 3 extra games for the national champ players. Same amount of games in the season for half of them (who are eliminated 1st round). 2 extra games for the Final Four people, and just 1 extra game who make it just to the Final 8.

For the BCS does the AP count?
The Coaches pole does?
We maintained 21st position and lost 27 votes.(418 down from 445).
Wonder how each coaches voted?
Is NIU sending a game video summary to each coach?
What about publishing the way each coach voted and their email addresses?

Wonder how each coaches voted? I'd like to know. Here's one who releases it: Troy Calhoun - Air Force
Is NIU sending a game video summary to each coach? Doubt it
What about publishing the way each coach voted and their email addresses? The last one (before the bowl games) is published.

RE: AP
Wow, that coach DROPPED Fresno while being bye. I'd hate that as a Fresno fan.

It goes to show you that votes can change on teams below the Top 10, and not just go up if you win and go down if you lose.

It's about how good they feel the team is.

NIU just needs to spank Toledo, win by a big margin against WMU (shouldn't be hard), and solidly beat BGSU/Buffalo in the MACC.

I give Fresno the edge mainly due to timing. New Mexico vs Toledo -- Toledo is tougher. The next week, WMU vs San Jose State -- San Jose State is tougher. BUT New Mexico & WMU are about the same as far as being a gimmie. When it comes to a potentially challenging game, that's where it should matter: Toledo is better than San Jose State.

For the Champ games: Boise State (9-3) vs Bowling Green (9-3). Boise State by their name, gets the edge. If it was Utah State or something, it'd be seen as the same. Boise is true (but tough) mid-major this year -- not a BCS team in a mid-major conference unlike past seasons. So unfortunately, BGSU will be seen by most voters as an "easier" win.

So altogether, Fresno has a small edge, but since they're already ahead, it's a solid, thick edge. Good news is that just as NIU can lose 2 of the 3 games remaining -- Fresno can lose at least 1 of the 3 remaining, so there is a chance NIU can make the grade.
