Since Etsu will play kennesaw state in 2015, Do you think mercer will also have a chance at playing them. They both are in Georgia so it would make sense.

It would make sense. I would like to see us play Ga State and Ga Southern from time to time, but I don't know if those programs would have much incentive to play an FCS team.

The game with KSU would make perfect sense. It would be crazy not to start a series with them and rotate home games each year. This schedule next year will be interesting. We need some games to balance the difficult SoCon schedule. We have a great rivalry with them in basketball, it would only be natural that football would go over great. An hour or so drive would also mean lots of road fans.

What about Etsu, We could play them too to make our schedule a little easier before playing conference games.

If I'm not mistaken, they are in the SoCon in 2015.
I'm ready to see a 2014 schedule. I haven't heard anything on the non-SoCon teams scheduled.

Definite possibility for both.

ETSU wont play a SoCon schedule in 2015. I doubt ETSU would play Mercer because we will end up playing lower division schools and try to log wins. ETSU vs KSU makes sense the first year because we will both have the same amount of scholarships at that point in the game since we are both starting in 2015. You can only add around 20 scholarships per year due to NCAA rules. Both ETSU and KSU would be at a disadvantage to Mercer.

Mercer will probably be at a disadvantage against the rest of SoCon for the first two years. They aren't adding all the scholarships right off.

Yea we'll be full scholarship for 2016. That's in the contract for the Georgia Tech game I believe.

I don't think we'll play ETSU until 2016 either. They won't want to travel here in 2015. I doubt we'd want to travel there either. It's gonna be tough for both teams to fill a schedule though, so you never know.

Looks like Mercer playing Stetson is going to be a regular thing for a while. Taken from the Stetson football release on the upcoming Mercer game:

“Coach Lamb and I have talked about trying to make this a rivalry,” said Hughes. “Even though they’re going to the SoCon we’ve asked to continue the playing relationship, and we have three more games scheduled (beginning in 2015).
