His son, Chris, ended the Talking Dead last night with a tribute to him.

From everything I ever heard about him, he was a nice man. Condolences to his family.

RE: RIP Memphis Legend Billy Hardwick
Our league rolled on the Billy Hardwick All Star lanes in the early 80's thru the late 80's.
He always got a kick out of our bunch of Federal Express aircraft mechanics coming in and calling him over to say the lanes were to dry or oily.
In truth they were great lanes to roll down.

He will be missed and condolences to the family.

I had absolutely no idea that was his son. Never even thought of it.

Yeah Charlie was pretty cool too. Bowled with his son when we were teenagers. I practically grew up at National Lanes. Charlie would come to Willow Oaks Elem. on Mondays at the end of the day and take a bunch of us to the lanes for an afternoon [league] if thats what you want to call a bunch 8 year olds rolling the ball down the gutter. Good times. Old fashioned daycare at its finest.04-rock

I knew his son Tommy. Not sure if he had any other kids. Last I heard, he was in Iowa or Kansas working for Fedex. I road the bus from Holy Rosary a LONG time ago to bowl at National.
