Hats off to Coach Jones and the team. Yet again, they were prepared and executed well Offense was clicking when it was a game, and we held the 20ish point lead for the entire game. With such low expectations coming into this year, this effort and results have been a pleasant surprise. If we can land a legitimate big man, dare I say we could be a "good" team next year??

I see no reason why we cannot at least contend with our CUSA foes if we gain recruit a big man. We're kinda stacked at the guard position so...

After the football game I had to take some time off of the boards. Good news we won our bball game.

Cancun has not been good to us. 2 losses.

But we were able to see where the team truly was. I think they have things to work on...ft for sure. But they kept playing hard and are motivated. They have a great fight in them as a team.

They will do better as the season goes.

Now that conference play has started I'm bumping this.

Oh yeah we are currently undefeated in conference play.

Tulane is this saturday. We play LT Feb. 22 in Norfolk.

Next games are going to be tough. If they can post 2 of 4 W's, they'll be on all cylinders for the tournament which is the norm for the Monarchs.

I think a lot of our opponents fans, as well as a lot of our own, look at last seasons 5-25 record and don't realize that, although we are not a deep team, we have some very talented players ( including Aaron Bacote who was the #2 scorer in C*USA.) Perhaps last season has been allowing us to come in under the radar a bit. That will not last. GO MONARCHS!

We could be the dark horse for this season.

If you are familiar with our history, we are very well acquainted with UAB, LA Tech, and Charlotte.

While last season we were re-acquainted with loseing, as a fan base we are used to winning.
2 years ago, being 3-0 in conference, and just over .500 overall would have been unacceptable.

With a new coach most of us are unsure about, and coming into a new conference with opponents we haven't played since the late 80's, well celebrate all the wins we can get. Being at the top of the conference (for now) is just the cherry on top.

Even if its just for a few days, we still have it!

Forgive us. After a 5-25 season, we are just plain estatic that we are where we are now!!! Whatever happens, will happen... We also have hope...

We're new to this conference, but we're active and enthusiastic. That's a solid contribution to CUSA if nothing else.
