Ok, North Texas, Marshall, ECU, Rice, MTSU and Tulane are better than every team in the Sunbelt except maybe UL-L.

Not so sure about that…I suspect the top 3rd of the Sun Belt and CUSA are pretty close on the field. Long term I think the most of the teams in CUSA have a brighter future many of the Sun Belt schools. Also I think long term CUSA will prove to be a better league than the Sun Belt.

They will have a psychological advantage, no matter what we do. The Pirates, meanwhile, are focused on making the C-USA title game and playing for C-USA championships.
Okay now that I got that out of the way, I see BC's running back ran for 339 yards vs the Pack today, and the Eagles ran for 420 yards as a team... I wonder how that will affect our game plan.
This probably has something to do with how much we ran on UAB. I think we'll see Coop & Allen get a lot of touches vs NCSUx.
I think you are right…Also it has come to light that the coaches have intentionally not been using Cooper that much lately in an attempt to keep him healthy and fresh for the stretch run. Coaches said they felt like they used him a little too much during the course of the season last year and he was just spent towards the end of the season causing his production and performance to wane…Apparently he was pretty beat up towards the end of the season last year.
We need to leave their defenders gasping for air like we did with UNC's. If we can do that without making too mistakes we should win easily. I know that they will make mistakes... we just need to make sure that we make less.
I also think that we need to blitz their QB as often as possible; he's not a good decision-maker and if we do, he will turn the ball over a few times.
It's Sunday and after thinking about it some more, I'm going with ECU 45 NCSU 17. Carden and Co. get the ship sailing in the 2cd quarter...

Disagree with this and so do the sports writers who vote our Conf dead last.

Yup. C-USA is definitely better IMO. ECU is where we are because we got beat by Tulane and we don't get to play NT or Rice unless it's in the championship. Marshall game is pending. C-USA is fine but because there are divisions we don't play half of the good teams and have gone 1-1 against the 2 we have played so far. We are ranked about where we deserve to be right now.

Rivalry games can be a tough deal for the "favored team"….And make no mistake this is a rivalry game for NC State just as much as it is ECU even though NC State likes to try and downplay the game. I have seen them teardown goal posts after beating ECU…I have seen their players crying after losing to ECU.
NC State does have some talent on their and they will be one of the most talented teams we have played all year. There biggest issue to date is poor QB play…If they get a guy in there who is having a great day against ECU they will make it tough for ECU to win.

Well a miracle happened and I am off work that day, and it was unasked for so...
But I pay my dues with Black Friday week starting the following Sunday...
The last time these 2 teams played, ECU beat the best team NC State has had over the past decade when freshman Damon Magazu intercepted Russell Wilson in the end zone in OT to preserve a 6 point victory. Magazu is now a senior and he's hungry for another Pirate victory against the dreaded Wolfpack.
The most high profile game in this series' history was the 1992 Peach Bowl when ECU came back from a 34-17 deficit over #21 NCSU with 8 minutes to go in the 4th to win 37-34 and cap off the season ranked #9 in both polls. ECU also beat South Carolina, Memphis (who had just upset the USC Trojans the week before), #15 Syracuse, #23 Pitt, a good USM team, VT, & Cincinnati that year. To this day, ECU is the only non-P5 team to play in the Peach Bowl.
If ECU can win out this year it would break that season's record for victories in a season by one game.

I'm nervous. We should win this game. But it's State, and it's Carter-Finley. Our players could get distracted by the overwhelming # of shoeless inbreds in the stands wearing overalls with nothing on underneath.
I am nervous about this game because it seems like the underdog has won the last few...
2007 in Greenville was a lot like this year; NCSU had a new coach installing a new style of play that didn't fit his players and no real QB while ECU was pretty good (this is the year we beat Boise in Hawaii) and Daniel Evans throws for 350 yards in a 34-20 Wolfpack win,
In 2008 the Pirates were ranked 15th in the country and fell to unranked NCSU 30-24 in OT after a Patrick Pinkney fumbled the ball.
In 2009 the favored Russel Wilson led Wolfpack fell to the Pirates and our porous defense in OT in Greenville on a Magz int.
Here's the pivotal long TD pass right before the half that helped lift ECU over NCSU in Raleigh back in 2006.
Below is the link for a quick highlight from the 1999 game where David Garrard ran for over 100 yards & 3 scores on the way to routing the Pack 23-6 in Dowdy-Ficklen.
