Why did NC State fire Tom O'Brien for a MAC coach again?

NCSU fans are asking the same question. I think DD is a good coach and given time will get the job done in Raleigh. I have a feeling that will not happen. State fans are livid with Debbie Yow..the AD for hiring him.

He probably would, given time to get his players in and his system down. That Yow canned someone with O'Brien's results suggests to me that it's fan pressure "for a coach who can take us to the next level" that swayed her to do that.

TOB is 60 something, didn't recruit well, and had taken the Pack about as far as he was going to take them. DD is young and successful. State isn't going to lure an established major conference head coach with lots of up side. The MAC, C-USA, or SunBelt are the logical places to look if you don't want to take a chance on a major college assistant. When DD has his recruits the Wolfpack will be in good shape.

Good video from the Boneyard of the Pirate takeover to start the Forth... Scoreboard operators learned kinda quick. The next time we started, they quickly started playing "cotton eye joe!" :-)

Purple!!!!! Gold!!!!!!!

I think this is their 3rd coach which they have said the same about; let's face it if Rivers had not stumbled on to campus they would have a long stretch of average at best success for a long time...I really do not keep up with the ACC schools; just the couple of weeks around when we play one of them...so I am not even going to try and argue any points with anyone...

Interestingly, Doeren's name keeps popping up for coaching jobs in the midwest. I can't find references but the Nebraska job (if Pelini was excused) was one.

Yow is poison.
