What are your basketball expectations?
What would make a successful season for your team?

for Illinois, anything less than Sweet 16 would be disappointing.

I'd like to just eek out an NCAA bid, but I think we're a year away from that.

Compete for the Big Ten Championship whole way through (for newbies, that means regular season, tournament champs is a smaller prize in the Big Ten, at least traditionally) and hopefully win it.

NCAA Tournament is such a crap shoot that I care a lot less about it than most, but a 3rd straight year in the Sweet 16 at a minimum would be nice.

I wish I could figure out Michigan State. It seems like every time I have high expectations they fall short, and when I'm not expecting a lot is when they make a deep tournament run.

Win the Conference, also the Big Ten Tournament, make the Final ... oh, wait, it said expectations, not hopes.

Lessee, uhm, play hard nosed Big Ten basketaball all season long.

IOW, I never build expectations for a season until the team has the resume to justify it.

I think the expectation before season starts is a Tourney bid. Now? We will see. It is still really early but already lost 2 OOC (UConn and Oregon State). Not playing all that well in the Paradise Jam. It may be NIT for us again. 03-weeping 03-banghead
