RE: UAB Asking Fans to Sit on East Side of Legion Field
I hate Legion field, yes a strong word but I feel that way... hate it more when we lose, so yes the hate has gotten stronger and stronger.

TEAR THAT THING DOWN!!!!

Turner field will be history soon, how old was it 20 years or so.

Legion field is alive for one game a year, the Classic.

I wish A&M and State would move the games to Montgomery and Huntsville, then maybe they will blow the thing up.

Then maybe we will be forced to DO SOMETHING...other then sitting on the East side, maybe we could move on up to the DELUXE APARTMENT IN THE SKY.

RE: UAB Asking Fans to Sit on East Side of Legion Field
If perception because of TV is the problem, then the simplest tactic might be to erect TV camera platforms on the east side and have them "shoot" west towards our crowded stands. That may be easier to manipulate than a few thousand fans who have become accustomed to the "west side as home" seating.

Moving the team to the east side may make sense because the teams now have to cross each other coming and going from the field (unless there is a reason for not changing locker rooms instead - is there any difference between them?).

I really don't like this guys...I wonder if Tulsa asked their fans to do the same thing last night?

Unfortunately, that will only leave UAB and the SIAC as that place's only remaining "hostages."

I suggested this over a decade ago. Yes, the sun is an issue early in the season, but back then, we played mostly night games, and it will help the TV appearance if everyone sits over there.

I think that it is a good idea, particularly for TV games like the coming Thursday against a team who will bring virtually no fans there to sit on their "side". Anything we can do to improve our image during televised games will be helpful.

This is not a new concept and nothing to be embarrassed or upset about. Back when we played in the BJCC and had televised games where the turnout wasn't good, Coach Bartow would have the PA announcer invite everyone in the upper deck to move down to the lower deck.

Appears to be the same thing.

If that were to happen these days, they'd throw him in jail.

Tulsa has always had small attendance, even in championship years. Being a small Presbyterian private school, they're simply predestined to have low turnout.

Plus no one in a 25K stadium still looks better than no one in a 72K stadium.

Alright! It's going to be first come first serve Thursday night. I'm going to have to enter the stadium a bit earlier than normal and claim my spot. As long as they sell the cold brew on that side I'll be fine. 04-cheers

Will the sky boxers move to the east side for the Blazers and make the sacrifice? Probably not.

After that @** whooping by ECU, Fox may blackout the game everywhere in the country except Texas.

If it weren't contractually obligated to broadcast this game, I'm sure Fox would have already found a substitute.

No one wants to watch UAB play right now. Even UAB fans.

I do. I will be there sitting in my usual spot. Looks like I will have more company. I have been advocating this for years.

I'll be there with you, but I wouldn't count on too much extra company. If we break 7000 attendance it will be a minor miracle.
