BC is just another middling team sometimes good, sometimes not.

If I could, I'd give you +2 just for using "Dadummit" in a sentence.

The entire Coastal Division is a hot pile of garbage.

If Duke wins the division ... I'll upgrade that to dumpster fire.

I guess SU should be satisfied with a 3rd place finish in the Atlantic division. We can beat BC and Pitt. I want a 3rd place finish behind Clemson and FSU03-hissyfit

Depends how demoralized the team is today...worst beating I've ever seen on SU.

I am worried about our CB Julian whigham, I hope he does not need surgery. But this game shows how far behind we are to competing for an ACC football championship.

Spoken like a true BC fan.....

The difference between our records is that we played Northwestern where you played Army. That aside, we are exactly where you are, only we have more talent and the home field advantage.

More talent? I must be missing something. This is the Syracuse team that lost to one of the worst teams in the B1G, got reamed by Georgia Tech, and couldn't even contend with Clemson or Florida St. for 1 quarter. Hope your team learns how to tackle by then or it will be another long day like today.

"Another long day?" Yawn. BC's signature wins are getting blown out by a bad USC team with Lane Kiffen as coach, losing to FSU, losing to CU, and beating the team that just lost to Duke and you're talking smack [rolls eyes]. Good luck. Like us, you're generally beating the teams that you should and you're playing some good teams close. Pretending like you are unbeatable, or any better than SU for that matter, is a little rich. You don't have the talent that we have (although the gap isn't very wide), and you are on the road. For the most part, I think this game will come down to coaching and luck. That said, I would be surprised if you're even the favorites. Erring on the side of being favorable to BC, I would say that the game is a wash at best.

75% of your team did this last year:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Boston...tball_team

50% of your team did this two years ago:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Boston...tball_team

Sure, some of that is coaching, but not all of it, and it's not like BC recruiting has been setting the world on fire. SU annihilated good WVU and UL teams for each of the three years leading up to this. That didn't mean that we were elite any of those years. Close losses mean next to nothing. Lose the arrogance, or it will be a long wait for the next time BC beats SU in a sport that matters.

If Duke wins this game and isn't top 25 that would be a shame on the top 25 voters.

So having a goal of a national championship is comparable to celebrating a co-divisional championship?

This is why UVA will never be relevant in football. Keep celebrating those 30th ranked recruiting classes Coach Dream is bringing in. The Hokies will keep donating to his coaching fund just like they did Groh's.

So, placing a hollow "national championship" case when you have never won a national championship in anything isn't the definition of hollow? It was you that started a conversation about "hollow".

I can't believe how Auburn just pulled that out. AU up 20 with 12:30 to go, down 1 with just under two minutes to go, and a miracle pass on 4th and 18. Just damn!

Just got back from the Miami/Duke game -- totally unreal what Duke is stringing together and sometimes, "seeing is believing".

Yeh, I think bringing your lax championships and your 2-10 fball team into a discussion is bs.

At least we aspire to win more than two games per year. You might try it some time when you get a real coach. Try William and Mary next time for a replacement.

RE: Open Thread - Week 12
There were more Maryland fans at the game than I've ever seen. They traveled surprisingly well. Probably because we won't see them for a while.

Except that our athletic department said this week that we are signing series with two B10 teams in the near future. We already have series with Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan. I'm thinking Maryland will be one of the two new ones.
