It's not that they disagree it is the how. Taking my comments completely out context on implying something else.

Ahh yes they at the one person has, then twisted it to make it so it seems that I am saying things that I didn't then other people chime in. I have always claimed that the men's schedule this year was great and that scheduling under the last two coaches was weak horroribly weak. I have never judge the women's schedule because they don't have the RBI rankings setup like the men's so it is much harder to compare. Lawrence tech was 5-6 and I judge them on that record. The women's schedule this is average but the women's team doesn't have the budget the men's do so it is much harder to get good teams to play against. Look at the UofM game I went to it and they didn't have a thousand fans there. And it was $4 a ticket and got a free drink and hot dog. When people try to compare men's and women's schedules you are comparing apples and Orange's it's just not practical or right.

Actually there is LESS justification for weak women's scheduling for the reason YOU STATE. There isn't big bucks in women's hoops, except for a small number of power schools.

On the other hand, in men's hoops it is ALL about $. Teams with limited budgets (e.g., EMU) can not afford to pay 100 - 250K to get big name programs to come here. (we'd lose our a*ses paying someone 150K and we draw 2,500, tops).

Instead we work on home and homes over two years with various mid-majors (esp. that was true with bracket busters which were home and home series), a few big money road games, and the NAIA 'cheapies' who will play us for next to nothing (they have no travel expenses - Rochester can board the bus - the bus and bus driver.).

I'd like to see more scheduling paired with football. Say home and home both sports with ODU. Maybe home and home, both sports, with IL. State.

I'd have no trouble with Drake FB (guaranteed win?) coming to EMU and then doing home and home hoops.

Very interesting transfer.

I actually read the whole release. This paragraph is most interesting:

"Puni (pronounced pooh-KNEE), a 6-foot forward from St. Charles, Mo., averaged 4.6 points and 7.9 rebounds in nine games this season. In a 68-64 victory over Florida, she sank 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and fourth of her career. She will sit out the remainder of the season due to NCAA transfer regulations and will become eligible following the 2014 fall semester. Puni will have just one semester of eligibility remaining.

I don't ever remember a player transferring for ONE semester of eligibility.

I predict EMU's women will be a powerhouse next year. Verdi should be making Dennis happy with his excellent recruiting.

EMU hoops is where it is at... 02-13-banana

I remember having a discussion about transfers say 20 years ago with an EMU coach. His thoughts were:

Big man (C or PF): min. 1 year of eligibility remaining.

SG/SF: min 2 years of eligibility remaining.

[PG: Wasn't discussed.]

Reason is that PF/C are so much harder to get that a coach will take him for even one year, rather than the desired 2 or 2+ seasons.

Now that we are talking women's hoops recruiting:

Anyone notice that we have two players (including Cha Sweeney) from Toledo Rogers and signed two more?

If thing go accordingly, EMU will have four players who were h.s. teammates.

Never seen that before...

EMU loses a tough game in OT at Buffalo after trailing badly at the half.

EMU gained a 1 point lead with 15 seconds left in OT, and UB made a FG.

EMU then got the ball with only 3 seconds left. :(

Exciting game. Wasn't the masterpiece that BG/CMU had earlier in Mt. P but still a very good game.

It didn't help that we had 14 fouls to their 5 in the first half!

One time a few years ago we played BG in the Convo and the refs only called foul in the whole game against BG and that was in the last 2 minutes. I was livid!

The ladies lost in blowout to Akron 101-79. We were so out rebounded the stat website crashed but at the half we were being out rebounded by almost 2-1 and it only got worse after that. I knew our size would be a problem this year and today it showed.

After a fast start it seems that conference play has been much tougher.
