At this point, it's just fan talk. I'm sure it was discussed in the last year--but Aresco has said there are no plans for anything like that at this time.

I'd love either VCU or WSU to offset Navy football...would really solidify the AAC as a top hoops conference.

That said the AAC seems to still have this dream of adding Army football and one more all-sport member.

I think it's just fan talk. Lot's of talk about Olympic only sports on the realignment board. Doubt there's much in the AAC office.

I know they have had some success…no doubt. But I don't see a team beat Virginia and get all excited.

Nobody knows better than ECU the impact of Basketball only schools on the old Big East and its impact on ECU membership over the years. I know it might help the AAC from a competitive stand point but the sting still lingers for this ECU fan and to the idea of Basketball only schools I would have to vote Hell F$c! No

It would really help the basketball of this conference. Guess what? We're already a hybrid conference and there's no such thing as "basketball only." I really wish we'd add them in the future, they'd close up a nice gap for travel and help with basketball revenues. They'd probably also help with the next TV deal. Basketball is huge for a non-P5 conference.

I don't know if VCU would want to leave the A-10...we could get WSU right now...easy drive for Tulsa, SMU, Memphis...nice facility.

I feel like the coach will eventually be hired away.

Also, I'm against partial/hybrid memberships. Need to be a full member that has FBS football.

If we have 12 football teams, I'd prefer 12 basketball teams.

I'd love to add a basketball only, I know why some may be hesitant but 1 add on isn't going to change any dynamic of power and it would help our basketball conference big time if it is the right school

Wasn't just basketball schools. Football schools consistently voted them down too and they never had strong support. That is not meant to be a knock, but far too many times I see ECU fans place blame at the wrong spot. Notice that when the Big East needed to expand, ECU was the twelfth selection. Not first. Not second. Twelfth. Behind TCU, Villanova, Houston, SMU, UCF, Navy, and Boise St, and San Diego St, then behind Temple and Memphis, then after Tulane. Not to mention the others who were sought but turned down (Army, Air Force, and BYU). That is like 15th. Seriously trying to tell me they everyone else wanted ECU but those pesky BB schools would not let them in?

Add VCU and WSU now...welcome them with open arms.

the AAC will never be up there with the power 5 in terms of football, but adding these 2 would give the league 6 or 7 legitimate b-ball schools, with a few other AAC schools up and coming.

adding these 2 schools would give the league 13 all sports members and 12 football only. now I know you're all saying, we can't have an uneven 13...that's when I say add BYU as an all sports except football as the 14th member, with a deal to play 4 or 5 AAC teams a year (a la ND with the ACC).
