4th or 5th? Really? You think that Rutgers is better than the following 5:

1. Louisville
2. UConn
3. Memphis
4. Cincinnati
5. SMU

Is Rutgers better than?:

6. Temple
7. Houston
8. UCF; or
9. USF

Definitely not Top 5 but probably better than those last four.

I'll be rooting for you guys against Duke but if they can blow out Davidson 111-77, I doubt FAU will put up much of a fight. I know Davidson is down this season but still.

If they can keep their big men out of foul trouble and rebound a little better, I'd say they will be a tough out for 5-9 on your list. UAB shot awful the 1st half, and battled from 9 down to win. I'm hoping its because they are pretty good and we aren't pretty bad.

RE: CUSA Basketball 11/11
I'm fairly certain some Pirate fans were already cheering for their new conference. I guess Rutgers leaving opened up the spot for ECU. But don't pretend to be an authority on the AAC.
A victory over Rutgers is not a big deal, but I hope a loss to Rutgers hurts other AAC teams NCAA profiles and opens the door for multiple CUSA teams. That would be a good thing.

The only teams I feel certain Rutgers isn't better than would be cincy, Louisville, and Memphis.

Rutgers was picked to finish last before they had a transfer from Pittsburgh granted immediate eligibility.

He is also their best rebounder and one of their top 2 or 3 scorers. They wont win the AAC, but I doubt they finish last.

You really can't take anything away from this game other than we got the W. The rest of the season will play itself out, and winning games is all that matters. If we wind up with 23 regular season wins and Rutgers winds up with 2, nobody is going to knock UAB for only beating a 2 win Rutgers team by 3.

For UAB, this was the first D-1 opponent several of our guys faced. While Rutgers is not great, they surely didn't look terrible. It's a much tougher game than our average D-1 opponent at home OOC. Our offense looked a bit dysfunctional at times, but the defense and rebounding was pretty solid throughout. I'm just glad we won the game. Hopefully we have no issues with Troy on Thursday, and then we should at least have some confidence heading into Charleston. New Mexico is a tough draw for the opening game, but we should be competitive with the rest of the field. Hopefully we can find a way to beat them, but that is going to be a really tough game.

I'm gonna say it again....you guys figured it out in the 2nd half and it was eerily similar to how we played our first game.

You guys are going to be a handful by the time conference play starts. 04-cheers to that

Last night was a good win. Rutgers, barring injuries, is going to hurt a few folks feelings by the end of the year.

RE: CUSA Basketball 11/11
Rutgers was on fire in there shooting especially from the free throw line. I don't think they missed many of either until the last 10 minutes in the game. I could look up the stats from the free throw line, but I bet it was about over 80%.

UAB didn't play well for lots of the game but still managed to win. I think that bodes well for us.
