A little too hard on FAU and Rice. Otherwise, good numbers. And I'd bet ECU more than covers 25.

RE: Opening Lines Week 12
Trey Watts is just plain good. He exposed ECU's rush defense a bit. Marshall has been pretty good against the run except for a game or two but I would bet Watts gets his yards (if not then I will be back on the Herd Defense's bandwagon). I just don't see Tulsa slowing down Marshall's offense though.
I would take Marshall and FAU. I don't really feel comfortable taking either side in the other 3 games.
FTR here is everyone's record ATS this season.
Marshall: 6-3
Tulsa: 1-8
FAU: 7-2
USM: 1-8
ECU: 4-5
UAB: 3-6
Louisiana Tech: 4-5
Rice: 6-3
FIU: 3-6
UTEP: 1-8

EAST.
Interesting point on Watts and ECU's defense. I have not been to an ECU game in a few weeks, so I'm not up on them like I usually am. Everyone talks about Cato, but Marshall is running for 215 per game and is currently 22nd nationally in rushing yards. They actually rush 54% of the downs. It's a 3 headed attack with Taliferro the primary back getting 5+ per carry, followed by Grooms (who finally appears healthy, maybe) getting 5+ per carry and Butler with an astounding 10 yards per carry). Tali is a cutter, small but physical. Grooms and Butler are absolute home-run hitters who consistently rip off 35+ yard carries for TD's. Both are small and fast.
Question is this: how do you think ECU's run defense fares against this rushing attack? They still have to deal with Cato, whose numbers (2345 yards on 297 attempts, 23 TD's and 6 picks, 148 rating) are excellent.
Man, I can't remember a regular season game I've anticipated this much in many, many years.

I still genuinely have no clue about that game. I could see Marshall blowing ECU out, I could see ECU blowing Marshall out (though I feel this is less likely with it being in Huntington), I could see a close shootout in the 50s, or I could see a semi-defensive close game in the 20s-30s. I feel the same way about this game as I did before the season started.
On the rushing thing specifically, I don't see Marshall rushing for 200+, but I also don't see ECU hold Marshall to the 97.6 yards rushing that our defense gives up on average. Anywhere in between those two numbers wouldn't surprise me.

I agree with FAU and Marshall. ECU is too risky IMO. Maybe I'm just too close to call it though.
