Question about Carden
Hey there, would post this on Boneyard ....but I forgot my PW and well laziness overcame me so it is posted here.

Carden and Hardy for that matter have had awesome seasons for ECU. Now I know I sometimes wear some purple and gold glasses, and some burgundy and gold ones on Sunday, but with all the accolades both are getting this year is there any chance either or both of these talents leave for the draft a year early?

Carden I am fairly sure will get a look at the next level if not this year but next, but I may be overvaluing or undervaluing his production because of the system he is in and also because of where he plays. I can't tell if NFL scouts will think he is as good as I do.

Same for Hardy for that matter. So if anyone has any thoughts on this Id be interested, if only to get the horrible thought that either could be gone next year when we go to the AAC.

Carden will be looked at as a "product of the system" type guy. NFL scouts will criticize his release point, his height, his arm strength, among other things. What the guy has is pretty good intangibles and is an above average decision maker. He will be compared to Case Keenum, who went undrafted and is now starting through attrition in Houston. I don't see anyone drafting him and certainly him not going early.

Hardy will be an interesting case. His speed and height will be criticized, but he has great hands and great instincts. He won't go early because his draft stock will not be that high anyway...but IMO, he will get drafted and I think probably somewhere rounds 3-5...so ahead of Dwayne Harris.

Hardy should go. This season has been unbelievable. Hard to anticipate a better year next year, and who knows, could get hurt. Wouldn't surprise me if he went this year.

Carden should hold and I see NO indication he will try to leave. Too many QB's this year. He's a great prospect in my mind. Big it factor. No real weakness that I see. But still, this year is quite a class.

RE: Question about Carden
BTW, Hardy caught his 23rd career TD pass last game, passing Lance Lewis for 1st place in ECU history.

RE: Question about Carden
Hardy will not leave this, he made a promise to his dad to finish school before his dad died. He will stay. As far as draft status, his hieght will hurt him, speed won't, he is faster than Dwayne Harris.

Carden, needs another year, will be close. Height and size isn't bad, not ideal, but fine. Arm strentgh is a question, but makes great decsions. May have to sign a undrafyed free agent deal.

RE: Question about Carden
Don't worry neither will enter the draft after this season. Both are great players at ECU but neither have elite measurables and that is huge for the NFL. There is no realistic chance for either to come out early and be drafted. Hell, I think they both will have a hard time being drafted after next season…Hardy may get a shot in the later rounds but I really do not think Carden gets drafted. He is not a big guy and he does not have a huge arm. He will have to prove himself as a free agent…A lot like Case Keenum. As far has Hardy goes…I think if he can stay healthy he will have a productive NFL career but I just do not see him being a high draft pick because he is an inside/possession receiver and does not have elite speed…He does not meet the ideal mold of an NFL receiver from the draft perspective. The NFL scouts and GMs are infatuated with the physical nature of player and tend to overlook the gamers because that is hard to quantify. One thing that may help Hardy are his hands, literally and figuratively, he has freaking huge hands they freakishly big for his size and catches almost everything thrown his way.

RE: Question about Carden
I would love to know what Hardy's wingspan and hand size are. I think he plays like a 6-5 WR with his reach.

You are right…He does play much larger than his actual size.
