Sometimes I wish that there was a Smitty that I could look to for a translation on some of his stuff.

If you want something that will leave a sour taste in your mouth, Republican legislative actions on public education over the past decade in our state will do it.

Besides, the piece was specifically about the "retirement " possibilities of Coach Blakeney. He was listed in the article on "Millionaire educators".

The thread is about the Troy UAB basketball game, not the retirement of a football coach or your uninteresting history lesson.

True, but if BamaFan has to come here to share his "knowledge" because no one will willingly listen to his rants in person.

Back on topic.

What is the over / under for the number of Troy fans that will come to the game 30? I know it being a weeknight makes it less likely that many will travel from Troy, but you would think they would have a decent number of alums in Birmingham that might want to come see their team.

As long as they don't bring that mascot, everything will be fine.

There is A LOT of excitement around UAB Basketball right now, so expectations are high. A loss to Troy would be VERY tough to swallow.

It's hard enough losing to Troy in football, but you guys have a respectable football program. UAB has always "buttered its bread" with basketball, so we expect to win. Of course, the door is open for an upset.
