Lauren Allison scores the first goal to put USA up 1-0 in the first half.

Congratulations to South Alabama. Unfortunately, there was a hand ball in the first half that was not called in the box. That would have resulted in a penalty kick. Even the announcers said it was a blatant missed call. In the second half there was a foul in the box that was not called. The announcers said it was not as blatant a missed call as in the first half but still should have resulted in a penalty kick.

Good luck in the NCAA Tournament South Alabama.

It evens out.

In WKU's 1-0 win in Mobile, a foul in the box was called outside of the box that should have given USA a penalty and WKU's only goal came after the ball went over the end line but was not called out.

I understand what you are saying.....I just think back to what Beed said earlier this season. This is our last season in the SBC. He said he is afraid in the SBC Basketball Tournament in New Orleans we could be in foul trouble early.

That argument doesn't hold water. If they were out to get Western Kentucky, they wouldn't have awarded them those calls in Mobile. I wouldn't be surprised if those soccer refs don't even know that Western Kentucky is leaving the league after this season.

I'm gonna miss Western. We seem to beat them at more sports than we do against anyone else...

You might be right.....Again, I wish you guys well in the NCAA Tournament. Congratulations on the SBC Tournament Championship.

I just always have what Beed said in the back of my mind. That is why quite a few of our fans think even if we finish 8-4 in Football, with the second best overall record in the Conference, we will not go to a Bowl Game.

WKU had a handball not called in the second half... and another call that went in WKU's favor that the announcers said it was a blatantly missed call. The one announcer even said something to the effect that 'unless I don't know the rules of soccer then the refs missed it'. It was a good game and I had a fast heartbeat all the way down to the end and WKU almost punched one in. It just wasn't meant to be. After the game in Mobile where the South Alabama team felt the refs shafted them (the announcers mentioned this too) it evens out. Thanks for the congratulations. I don't know too much about the NCAA Soccer Tournament (seeing as we never go)... any chance for an WKU at-large?

It'd have nothing to do with Benson, but the GoDaddy would most likely take a 6-6 USA team over a 7-5 SBC team... possibly even an 8-4 SBC team we'd see. But it'd have nothing to do with Benson. If the Pizza Bowl opens up you might end up there.

No, we do not have a chance for an at-large bid. I went to Mobile several years ago when the SBC Basketball Tournament was there....I really liked the campus and the city. I wish you guys well in the future.
