The first Monarch football FBS win is the latest in a series of milestones for ODU football...if someone created a timeline graphic for ODU football key events, what all would be on it?...Thoughts on very rough draft below??...

The timeline needs to start with surveys that were conducted by ODU prior to the announcement. I remember meeting President Roseann Runte and Alonzo Brandon, who is now Vice President for University Advancement, for dinner at a Washington D.C. restaurant. There were two other alumni invited and they wanted to know our thoughts about ODU starting football and whether or not we will support such an endeavor if it ever came to be. We overwhelmingly responded in the affirmative, ODU Football all the way, baby! So yes, it needs to start with surveys ODU conducted, not only with Alumni, but I reckon with community leaders, local government officials, Chamber of Commerce, and the likes, and Dr. Runte's initial and fervent efforts needs to be at the beginning and part of the story.

Might be more of a Heinicke achievement, but him becoming our first QB to eclipse 10k passing yards in a career.

You can't leave out the announcements of being invited and accepting the invitation of joining C-USA and moving up to FBS competition.

Definitely TH winning the Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding FCS football player last season. That was a personal award, but it was also a great achievement for the ODU football program.

After digesting a little of this years football season and following a future CUSA member UNCC and watching them struggle with their schedule. Six (6 ) loses, two (2) of which are against Div. III schools, UNC Pembroke and Wesley College (those schools offer 0 scholarships to football players). UNCC will end the season with a losing record. Well it makes me appreciate even more what ODU has accomplished.

The naysayers can say whatever they want. The bottom line is Old Dominion has achieved many milestones in our short and incredible start up of football. The milestones and achievements are almost to numerous to mention. Wow, like a proud parent, at times it is almost too much to comprehend and appreciate what we have done.

Monarch Nation has reason to be shouting our pride from the roof tops. Small achievements to some, but I feel fortunate to have experienced and witnessed our evolution.

I can only say thanks to our Administration, Football Coaches, Staff, Players and Fans. What a ride..................

I share the same curiosity as Old Timer. Can we know who he is?

Going off ESPN.com, it may be Nnadi. I am not credible, but I don't think we're getting young Mr. Kentavius Street. There may be a 4-star not mentioned on ESPN.com, but I think our chances of reeling in either of the 4-stars listed on ESPN.com are just about nil.
