LTU Ruston vs Southern Mississippi
Two bad teams, just like UTSA and TooLame. Southern Miss will retain the losing streak mark tonight. You could shoot birdshot in either the student, or the home side and not draw blood.
No crowd, not quality.

Much to your chagrin (and my relief), USM's winless streak didn't end in Ruston last night. As bad as we've looked all year, I was worried that it might. The announced attendance was 18,571. Not too bad for two struggling teams late in the season.

We've seen the crowd shots. If you had 9K there you were lucky.
Were both teams wearing dresses and carrying purses?

Oh look, another cusa thread. This forum is getting to be unbearable. Surprised mods let this happen.

Cmon man, its more of a LTUR smack down thread than a CUSA thread. Dont read the sum-bertch if you're offended.

You would think the freaking title would give away what's being discussed. Don't open the damn thing if you don't wanna read about it!

Well sounds like our game in Monroe, but with twice the crowd and more masculine outfits than ULM was wearing. Ugh.

Teams have off years, and in off years, attendance suffers. Conference presidents know and understand this. That's why many other factors trump attendance whenever expansion is being considered. Apparently, ULL just didn't measure up to UNT, FIU, MT, FAU, and WKU when the decision was made by CUSA on who to add. Tech is struggling this year, but USM has really fallen off the edge of the earth. I have never seen them look as bad as they looked on the field last night. Even so, they DID NOT, I repeat, they DID NOT wear dresses. We've won four games so far in this rebuilding year, and we've still got Rice, UTSA, and Tulsa to go. I've seen things worse for us and ULL both.

That's about right. The cameras worked hard to conceal it.

Terrible crowd. 9 to 10K looked about right on TV. There was really no reason for them to go, but for the love of the Dawgs. Should be a good crowd for Tulsa if we beat Rice this weekend. But, that probably won't happen... lol

Do you really believe that BR? I don't know when the decision was made, nor what criteria were used in the final decision, but I would suspect objections voiced by one or more C-USA members had more to do with the decision than UL "not measuring up". JMHO.

why does ULL care what's going on in Ruston? By your own accounts Sun Belt is a much better place to be than CUSA

I honestly have no clue as to what the reason was. I've always assumed that Tulane didn't want you guys in the same conference as them, but that is pure speculation on my part. I've been told by people in Tech's athletic department that we will not try to block ULL's admission, nor will we push for ULL's admission. I like ULL's chances if CUSA adds anybody else, providing that happens before UTSA leaves for the AAC. If that happens, look for Texas State to be added before you guys.

I agree there is nothing in Ruston that excite me until we play next year. All this name calling and bickering over things that none of us on this board can control is getting old. Tech is having a down year we've been there before and should know it doesn't feel good and don't need salt in the womb. I wish you guys all the best of luck and hope you get bowl eligible. We are one Baldwin or Bustle away from being where you guys are. I want to enjoy the ride we're on and hopefully build a program that can sustain this level of pay while striving to be better.

they all say that, but on their message board this morning they were talking about why Tech got into CUSA and they didn't. The thread on RaginPagin ended up getting erased

For the same reason the Tech board as a thread dedicated to UL almost every week, the programs dislike each other.

like why ULL's message board had a whole thread dedicated to the attendance at last night's Tech game

Yep and previous thread on Tech's board were about the recent name fight between UL and ULM, and Thursday nights Troy game. Did I miss any?
See ya in Lafayette next season!
