ACC football: MSG=Cuse / YES=Pitt/BC
Anyone have any idea why ALL of the Syracuse football games have been on MSG while YES has not carried ANY of them?

So far this season, YES has shown 3 ACC football games:
UVA @ Pitt.
ODU @ Pitt
BC @ UNC

Meanwhile, MSG has had 4 ACC football games:
Tulane @ SU
SU @ NC State
WFU @ SU
SU @ Maryland

I asked Matt Sarzniak already, and here was his reply:

Quote:I honestly don't know if that was by design or not. Both have wide coverage in the state of NY. I would have thought it was due to various pro sports conflicts on both nets. Nets & Yankees for YES, three NHL teams plus the Knicks on MSG.

So, do any of you guys have an explanation for this? or do you think it's purely coincidence?

Might just be coincidence. Time Warner Sports Channel and SNY used to show all of the SU games when SU was in the BE, but now I have no idea what the deal is and I dont know which channels to find the games on this year.

Here in SC the game is on FSN. In upstate NY I'm not sure, though I will say it seems like the RSN pkg for Syracuse has been very consistent (MSG, ROOT, Comcast, etc.) - here is the link listing them all.

Worst-case, you can always watch it on ESPN3.com (as long as you have ESPN).

I would say yes is more widely available on cable only because cablevision is harder to deal with in regards to other cable companies since they have there own cable company. like for me,my cable doesn't have msg or msg plus but we have had yes since its inception

Maybe it's that Syracuse gets good ratings in NYC and they want all the Cuse games they can get.

Maybe MSG gets first choice over YES.
