WE DID for 3 quarters

If you think we were not manhandled for three quarters then you have been drinking something stronger than any kind of aid. Total domination of the fourth quarter saved us this game.

You must of checked the box score.

We lost to them last year and beat them this year. It was mostly painful to watch BUT at least it was a victory.

I'm hoping the team looks more polished for the remainder of the season.

I think our ref problems all go back to getting the crew in trouble after our first game. Ever since then most of the crews seem to be determined to teach us a lesson.

These are the same idiots that officiated the MTSU game. Absolutely the worst.

Went to the game and thought we had a good crowd. Just checked. We did have a nice crowd of 24,487 for Homecoming.

Not because of the bad calls either. They just sucked all around.

Agree.

How hard is it to know what down it is?

This is a nit, but it's unusual.........I can't recall hearing "thank you" from other crews every time the clock is reset from other crews. It's not a big deal, but it's highlighted by the perceived ineptness on the other basic officiating functions.

From the in stadium view probably butts. Like I said we had a nice crowd on hand.

Considering that we were a 1 win team playing a 1AA/FCS program, I thought that the crowd was respectable.

Decent adjustments at half helped get the D back in form for the most part. Love our 12th defender this game. Can we give a game ball to the left upright?

I agree with most here. It was very frustrating sitting there watching the mistakes and penalties and no offense for most of the game, but in the end, the tigers did what they needed to do. That's getting the homecoming win. Credit utmartin for playing a hell of a game. Lots of fight in the team we beat tonight.

Congrats to the TIGER team and staff.

Butts or tickets sold?

Every boxscore you see, in College football and basketball, every NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA boxscore is tickets sold. Some people claim otherwise but nobody lists turnstile (butts as you say) as the official attendance at any game. In this day of gate splits and revenue sharing, a turnstile count would shortchange visiting teams plus throw all the attendance figures you see into disarray. There are always no shows at every game, every sport.

Man weren't they! That play where they reviewed a fumble I think....and then had to review it again...and then had to adjust for it being 2nd down instead of 3rd. I mean, they got it right but dang if it didn't take 20 minutes to get it right. There was another play...I think going toward halftime...where we ran the ball out of bounds...never tackled. The lead official gave the signal to wind the clock so of course, they ddi as instructed. He then stopped and told them to put time back on the clock and start it at the start of the play. Painful stuf to watch.

Thanks, K. Same here. There is nothing like tailgating and attending a game in person. Same goes for the CBU game the night before. Weekends like that make me wish I lived closer to Memphis.

A few observations:

1. The 24K was close to butts in the seats, and most people actually stayed until the end. My tailgating group guessed 20-22K, before we knew the announced attendance.

2. Captain Obvious here, but we played like crap until the last minute of the first half, played a lot better in the 3rd quarter, and dominated the fourth quarter. Fortunately for us, football is a 60-minute, 4-quarter game. I'd rather play like crap and win, than play well against a better team, and lose.

3. That might be the longest game I ever attended in person. The refs added about an hour to it, b/c they had no idea what they were doing, for either side.

4. UTM isn't as horrible as everyone wants to believe. They are bigger than we are, on both lines, especially the O line, and they blew us off the ball all night. We won in spite of that.

5. Unless you were there, I don't think you could understand the impact of the wind on that game. It blew like a minor gale most of the day. Flags in the stadium were all stiff in the breeze. I'm sure that had a major effect on the passing game, and the kicking game, for both sides.

6. I read through this thread out of curiosity. My observation is that we should install a 3-hour delay on posts, until the game is over. 03-lmfao

Good seeing you again and look forward to the guys at work tasting your product. Wish I had remembered to come back and take photos, I was being pulled in 4 different directions so missed the opportunity, dang it. Andy, that wind is at almost every single game. Our tailgate group was discussing that. I can't tell you how many times I have left home on the way to the stadium and it is calm and warm....then I get to the LBS and it is 15 degrees cooler and the wind is not just blowing but howling. We figured that area must be a wind tunnel of some sort. 03-lmfao I thought the attendance was really good too considering everything.
