OK, I'll Bring It Up...
With Stanford beating Oregon tonight and paving the way to a Alabama-Florida State championship game, would that and the circus that might surround it be good or bad for UAB football? Specifically, would UAB's recent past football history with Jimbo Fisher, which is likely to be brought up and exposed to the world should the game occur, deepen the already negative feelings toward the UAB football program, especially if Bama were to lose?

I know one guy who won't give a rat's ass, beyond the passing hope that the Criminoles wipe the floor with them.

I don't think the way has been paved. uat still has to play LSU, Auburn, and possibly Missouri and they could lose either one of those.

And they'll still let them play for the mythical national championship should they stumble in either of these. Hell, they've done it before, it's already established that you don't even have to win your division in this format to be "the chosen ones" for the mythical national championship. What's to stop "the machine" from ordaining them yet again? I won't be watching, regardless of the outcome of the scenario, I'll stick to the mid-majors and the FCS (D1-AA), where a TRUE national champion is determined on the field by more than 2 teams hand-picked by a bunch of "good ole boys" and a computer. But, for what it's worth, I hope LSU and whoever else left on their schedule finds a way to just mop the floor with the "Updykes."

Unfortunately Memphis Blazer is probably right. If there's any mention at all it'll probably be that.

I believe the SEC purposely moved the TX A&M game from its first position (the week after LSU) to mid Sept. just to make the Bama run easier. It might be interesting to know if Bama ASKED for the game to be moved.
One point might be that Bama, in the past 5 years, has seldom won all its last 2 or 3 games when LSU and AU had strong teams. Last year AU was no competition, but TX A&M came to Bama and surprised them after they (Bama) beat LSU and might have thought they had it all but wrapped up. "Johnny Football" really was a big surprise.

I watched the Troy / ULALA game and the Redskins / Vikings game.
Didn't care to watch Oregon / Stanford or Baylor / Oklahoma.

Possible but I doubt it.

E$PN will be all spouting about how much of a football god Saban is, if he's going to go to Texas or not & how McCarron or Winston (whoever is having the better game & ends up winning) is the next Heisman candidate. They won't say a thing about Fisher/UAB.

Heisman is determined before BCS National Championship.

Heisman is determined before BCS National Championship.
The Heisman Trophy is awarded even before any bowl games are played - about a week after the last regular season games weekend (which is usually the Army - Navy game weekend).
Since no one at UAB filed a protest / complaint with the NCAA or SACS over the way the BOT interfered with the UAB coaching search, only a few locals are aware how it was handled (to the detriment of UAB football) in order to assure their new coach that he had "first dibs" on his former LSU OC.
Fisher, for his part, knew that UA would want to block his departure for "greener pastures" so he took the surer (and quicker) path to a major program FBHC by becoming the "coach in waiting" at FSU and never looked back.
