RE: I would like to take this time to apologize to FAU fans in advance

You see, here at FAU, we had Schnellenberger reach great success with our team (2 bowl wins in 2007-2008, SunBelt title, FCS semifinals, etc.) but he also led us to a 1-11 season. Did he become a bad coach all of a sudden? or were there other factors, such as terrible scouting, bad team, always tough schedule?
let me repeat, I have no knowledge of coaching at Marshall and I am just wondering out loud.
This is a valid question and hard to express my reasoning if you hadn't followed all throughout Snyder's tenure. And sure, we would've loved had those plays in particular turned out but the bottom line is they didn't. Often, they were the wrong play calls or strategic approach to the game at the time. This all began from day 1. That Kansas State home loss debacle was Snyder's 2nd game as head coach. 2nd half or 4th quarter collapses resulting in a loss were the norm under his tenure. So many of those in 1 season, for example, I think really starts to weigh on a team's psyche.
He can contribute pretty well as a DC and assistant coach. With as much support as he received from the administration here at the time, I can't understand how there wasn't clear progress in some form under Snyder but the answer is that he just wasn't head coach material. And there's nothing wrong with that.

He ruined our winning percentage at home while blowing a win against K-State in his 1st season, lost to a FCS game in 2007(the same season we started like 0-7). Worst Head Coach Ever, but he was Ohio States DC for a while, after he was fired he was somewhere, then USF, and now Texas A&M. You do not want him.
Assuming you mean for Marshall only because if you are talking all D-1 schools, Southern Miss (eLx12) and ECU (John Thompson) will argue you for days/years on whose the worst Head Coach
