2003 huskies vs 2013 huskies. Who would win?
Let me start by mentioning that I'm new here and I'm not sure if a thread like this has already happened.. I apologize beforehand if you folks aren't fond of these kinds of posts lol.

What kind of game would this be? 2003 was a much more conventional team so I don't know if they would contain 2013s offense.

On the other hand Haldi had several great receivers to choose from against a defense that gives up lots of passing yards.

I think it would be a high scoring affair. 2013 squad wins 49-45.

I'll take the team with Jordan Lynch over the team with Josh Haldi 100 times out of 100.

"100 times out of 100?" Did you really just say that?

Here is one thread where we compared our various teams. This topic comes up from time to time.

Oh I would love to hear a time when you would rather have Josh Haldi than Jordan Lynch. Please tell me.

Haldi wasn't bad. Certainly wasn't flashy. I'd rather have JL too but the 03 offense was built around Turner running the ball so haldi didn't get any spotlight.

Your words speak for themselves. According to your words, the 2013 team would beat the 2003 team 100 times out of 100. Pretty clear, I'd say.

He wasn't terrible, but he wasn't great by any means. He didn't get any spotlight because he was a blah QB. Completed like 50% of his passes his senior year.

That's not what I said. I said I would take the team with Jordan Lynch over Josh Haldi 100 times out of 100. Give me my chances with Jordan Lynch, and I'll give you yours with Josh Haldi. That's all I said.

You can certainly make the argument the 2013 team was (is) better. But, the 2003 team was very talented and significantly better on the defensive side. And, of course, there was Michael Turner.

I'd say it would have been an epic battle.

haldi vs. lynch is not a great comparison, because 2003 didn't run the 2013 offense. would you take lynch as your centerpiece versus turner? Having turner w/ PJ, Sheldon, Hurd, Powers as balance points made for a great balanced offense. Turner allowed the offense to pound the defense and consume time.

Yes, I would take Lynch as my centerpiece over Turner. Or Hammock. Or Wolfe. Or any player in school history.

RE: 2003 huskies vs 2013 huskies. Who would win?
2002-2003 was when the spread offense really started taking off in the MAC. i think it would be close, but i really can't argue against having a balanced offense and a future NFL back in the backfield. Plus the 03 defense was pretty good before injuries. so by a coin flip, i take 03. but i could as easily like the 13 team. we really haven't seen a good offense to test our d since EIU (cringe), so this upcoming game will be a big tell on if that D was improving or not.

Still in awe of how Turner and the 03 team pounded the ball down Bama's throats!

I'm not sure any defense from 03 would know what to do with a modern offense. Defenses today have a hard enough time. On that point alone I'd give 13 the edge. 03 could try to control possession but the game would be played on 13's terms and like any game this season there'd be a trading of punches with 13 pulling away late.

exactly....our LBs in 03 were sized more of traditional hard hitting LBs, but LBs these days are essentially bigger DBs to keep up with offensive speed. so there are pros and cons to each.

2013 Huskies tell the 2003 Huskies to start a social networking website on college campuses with .edu addresses. They're the winners.

Michael Turner has 5,000 children and never misses a child support payment.

It's awesome to reflect on but Alabama's run defense was awful. They gave up almost 300 yards rushing to Arkansas the next weekend. I'm too lazy to find their team rush defense stats but I'm pretty sure they were bad. Fun to say now since Bama has been at the top of CFB for the past several years though.

According to YahooSports, Bama was #50 in Rush Defense in 2003, giving up an average of 132.5 yds/game. Not great, but not bad for a team that played 8 SEC teams, Oklahoma and NIU.

Glad to help you out.
