#TXST BSB: Gather 'round. Texas State released its 2014 baseball schedule on Monday and it's quite a good one. Marquee home games include tilts with Baylor, Michigan, Rice, Washington and Texas. Yes, the Longhorns will visit San Marcos on March 11, 2014.

#TXST Baseball will host Texas on March 11, 2014. This will be the 2nd time the Longhorns have visited Bobcat Ballpark with the last coming in 2009.

The re-weighting of home vs road wins

How on earth did you get a home game out of Texas. I had heard they were one of those baseball schools that almost never traveled for a non league game.

They don't I have no idea how we managed that, seemed to me they always needed that home field advantage against us.

looks like we have utah, baylor, tcu, oklahoma state, mo state, and columbia coming in and texas a-m and oklahoma over at texas rangers ballpark...not too bad .

That's a ton of tough games in non league play. ASU took the opposite approach this year and only scheduled one team from a conference rated above the SBC.

We over loaded on SEC teams last year and two of them turned out to have awful seasons, and the RPI bombed anyway.

I'm extremely impressed with the teams we signed up for our tournament.

If you want to get better you play better teams. To beat the best you have to play the best.

Harrington and Fikac (mainly Fikac) gets as tough a schedule as they can for OOC. We win some of these, we lose some and we get national respect and recognition. It's a gamble that has paid off for TXST Baseball.


I am disappointed we are not having our 3 game series with UH this year. Guess they got tired of losing to us.

If we were constantly stomped in the dirt in these big games I would be worried but that is pleasantly not the case. What I am worried about though is the capacity of our stadium if scheduling big names at home is gunna be a regular thing, now that's a worry I don't mind having.

Very good schedule. This conference is going to be very good in baseball this year and in years to come.

I wonder if the impending change at AD had anything to do with it. It also helps that TXST has upgraded their stadium. UT would never play at a "sub-par" venue.

UTA has played UT over fifty times, only once wasn't at Disch-Falk and that was a neutral game.

There are a lot of people who are speculating that the reason the major men's sports at UT are struggling is the fact they don't travel so recruits in other places are less interested in playing there since they will never get reasonably close to their home. I don't know that I buy that fully, but wouldn't be surprised if that was part of it.

I'm just glad we are playing them in something. Those games bring out the best in the Loud Crowd
