Another commit Terry Larrier also got bumped up 19 spots from #59 to #40 in the new ESPN 100 update which boosted helped our class rating as well.

well good for VCU. i like to see the little guys do well

IMO recruiting classes only account for 10% of a teams success. as long as you have a good coach (which VCU does) you are going places

last year kentucky had the #1 class and didnt even make the tourny. michigan had the 14th ranked class, made the ncg and was considered to have the best freshman class.

kentucky may have dominated the draft boards the last few years but a little known fact is that after UK syracuse is putting out the 2nd most amount of high draft picks and their average recruiting class ranking for that time span has been 22nd

Totally agree. This is the first time VCU has had any type of nationally recognized recruiting class, and we've done fairly well for ourselves the past several years considering we've been playing with 2 and 3-star kids, including a couple of top 20 NBA draft picks.

Rankings are good for message board fodder. Players play and coaches help them be the best they can be. There are a lot of kids not ranked that qualify as 'players'.

well good luck to you guys. you have done pretty well for yourselves although most of these guys wont have a real impact until 3-4 years from now. but it is fun to watch them grow and develop (one thing kentucky fans dont know sh!t about)

No kidding on the player development part. Luckily we're not depending on this class to come in and dominate right away. We've got a pretty decent team right now as it is. Hoping we can keep it going in the future with this class though.

yeah i am a cuse fan. i loved watching the SU team growing up because they were like a mid major in that they were very different from traditional teams. they play zone & (until recently) didnt try to recruit star players.

i loved watching siva (from LV) & triche grow and develop from freshman to senior year. stuff like that is what makes BB great and thats why i hate UK so bad and think that they are ruining the game. i see VCU and they are recruiting exactly like how SU used to recruit. which is why im pulling for you guys.

just dont get discouraged cuz you guys are not killing it like butler. what butler did was pretty amazing. they set the bar so high with back two back ncg appearances that that will be hard for any school to top. but for a school like VCU to consistently do well in the tourny speaks volumes to the strength of your program.

Oh I'm not discouraged that we haven't gone back-to-back to the national title games. That's not a standard I measure VCU by to be excited or discouraged.

Most programs in the country at any level would be discouraged if that was the expectation.

We did alright against Butler last year... but yea what they did in 2010 and 2011 was flat-out incredible.

This is a phenomenal success rate - especially when it is compared with other power conferences. Last I looked, the PAC-12 had 8 and the Big XII has 2! The other half of the old BE, the AAC has only 2.

At the other end of the spectrum, the ACC was leading with 18. But when you consider that the ACC has 15 members, that's a rate of only 1.2 per school vs 1.5 for the Big East.
