Northern Illinois drops to #4 in the Sagarins
MAC
Northern Illinois #4 (3)
Ball State #36 (33)
Toledo #39 (32)
Ohio #43 (51)
Buffalo #48 (45)
Bowling Green #88 (84)
Central Michigan #99 (N/A)

MWC
Fresno State #14 (14)
Boise State #40 (44)
San Jose State #63 (85)
Utah State #79 (82)
UNLV #89 (N/A)
San Diego State #91 (93)

-Except Ohio who received a boost from UNT and Marshall winning big the remainder of the MAC appears down.

-The MWC is up this week in the ELO's but the Top 5 of the MAC is still significantly higher 1 through 5 than what the MWC is rating.

That's nice. I'm still going with Buffalo. They are at home, and, IMO, the better team.

I would normally agree with you but I think Kit Kat showed remarkable restraint here, not mentioning Ohio until the second word of his narrative.

Am I reading your info correctly in that Ohio's bump in the Sagarin's leaves them only 4 places behind the third place team in the West? Congratulations!

RE: Northern Illinois drops to #4 in the Sagarins
The drop in the Sagarin from 3 to 4 has no real traction in NIU's position, since top and bottom computer rankings are dropped.

Rather, it was dropping from 12th to 17th in Colley Matrix and from 14th to 20th in Kenneth Massey that led to the drop in the aggregate computer ranking and so the drop in the BCS.

I assume the reason for talking about Northern Illinois' ranking in the Sagarins was rather because of the trivial detail that Ohio went up in the Sagarins the same week that most MAC teams went down.

Most people quit opening threads he started about expansion, attendance, bowls, Ohio U., or pretty much anything. But if you disguise it as a conversation about NIUs Sagarin ratings they might open it.

According to Dennis Dodd, at this point in time based on the ranking formula has the MAC has the top non-AQ conference. So MAC would receive a larger share of BCS money when split up.

It was to pimp Northern Illinois for a BCS bowl like I did last week.

Fascinating, however, I think that in order to fall in line with OP, it should be noted that this makes OhioU THE (sixth) BEST TEAM IN THE BEST (non-AQ) CONFERENCE.

So basically even when you try to write a post about NIU fighting for a BCS berth, you can't help putting OhioU in the spotlight when you actually start writing.
